using a different name or name variation
 

the stealth guide states that ebay can't link you through the name alone, I find this hard to believe, if I just slightly changed either my first or last name, surely they would see this correlation and use it to identify me, particularly if you have several suspended accounts under that name..?

so the other way is to use a different name which is fine, but I wanted to know if banks would accept a payment from PP in a different name, the guide says that banks will accept payments with a name variation, but would they accept a completely different name??

The first thing to learn is that at the top of the page, just to the left of your name, there is a search box.

@winmil, good that you have read the guide - fine if you have questions - some of your q's are answered by searching the forums but that you will find as time goes on =)

1. The link principle is based on MANY things like address, phone number, IP, cookies, etc. NOT just name =) If it were just name, every Paul Johnson (example) would be linked - that is NOT the case.

2. Many banks will accept deposits in whatever your name is. Example: my own account accepted a deposit in the name of Big Gun just because I felt like it.
