Refunds by Paypal
 

I have recently sold a few items on eBay but not been able to deliver them as I had to go abroad on a family emergency.
I first let the buyers know about a slight delay but when I saw I could not get back for a while yet, I issued them a refund and sent an e-mail to them to explain. There were both happy with it and said I should let them know when I re list item.
I still have to refund one more buyer.

Anyway, with all the talk about Paypal withholding payments and all that I was wondering if having given a couple of refunds will cause me problems with Paypal? (No disputes were opened - I gave the refund myself as I did not want the let the buyers wait for a not foreseeable time).

I would say you should be fine in this situations as long as disuptes are not opened. Which you have under control anyway.

That's a relief then .. I thought I might get into trouble with Paypal for giving a couple of refunds at the same time. :)

Just to back up what they are saying, you are fine. I refund people all the time when they cannot figure out that they have to NOT purchase one item at a time when combining.

I end up having to refund 50% of my customers since they are well, Morons in many cases.

They seem to want to pay individual shipping instead of just waiting for the invoice I like I clearly tell them about. another issue though.

It is the nature of pp to cause problems for payments received and stuff sent THAN for refunds - bit messed up like that.
