good aged ebay account but bank account garnish??

I have a friend that has a good 3 year plus old ebay account but has not used it in well over a year. he never sold much. he has not listed anything on the old active ebay account b/c when he sells an item and transfers the money to his bank account it automatically gets taken from his bank account for his child support. I can use his account to sell but what do i do to insure I will receive my $$$?? attach another account or link it to a card? any help would be appreciated?? not sure in this situation?? It is a good old aged account and I definetly want to use it for cashflow with no interuptions?

TBF, this is a scenario where friends and business never mix.

Are you thinking of doing this becuase it's a good old account? That might back-fire.

If there has been no selling on that account for a year, you still face the possibility of a limitation by ebay (MCO10). Had you thought of that?

You could attach another bank account but truly it's not something I would recommend.

Think more carefully about this, please:pry:

yes, I have thought of that. I would work the account very slowly with begining minimal use for first couple months, slowly increase.
I can use the account and just give him a small portion. He actually does not want it and said I can use it keeping it well under the 200 items or $20,000 rule. he would offer his I.D. if need be.

If I used it slowly could there still be a possibilty of limitation cus of no-use for so long? what would be best way to get the funds if he has his bank account attached to it that he never puts money into?

thanks greenbean, always an awesome help!

ebay/paypal accounts work on logarithms.

Whilst we can predict 'our' actions to make an account work, it's the other party, a buyer, that might upset our plans.

Best item in the world won by a fruitloop. What are the scenarios? An ebay dispute or paypal dispute. Who is 'caught?' You.

the friend agrees to this today. His circumstances change. He reneges on the deal. Who is 'caught?' You. Logarithims are upset.

Even going 'slow' might cause a limitation. You know the answer of the next question.

Like I said you could add your own bank account, wear garlic around your neck and carry a wooden stake:amen: ;)

why dont you get pp under his name ten lifting limitations (above 2k gbp received) wouldnt be a problem since you will have his id copy. Also you may need his photo with the goods and invoices under his name (last part is the easiest) you can do that all straight away just not to bother him later. I think this should work no problem and better pay him one time fee and change the password ;) to make sure friends will be friends ;)

the paypal is under his name and attached to his bank account that gets garnished. It is all in his name. but i/somehow need to divert the money from his paypal to another bank account or other, rather than his bank account that gets garnished.

If you operate the account correctly, just add a new bank account and have it confirmed. His bank account can't be used on pa yp al again anyhow.

setitoff 07-06-2011 11:14 AM

under what name do i have a new bank account confirmed?? the bank account under his name linked to the paypal takes the money [allomony] when it goes in his bank account? should he try to get a paypal card and just get the funds from ATM. rather not get the paypal card. any other suggestions.

I'm not recommending this as I don't believe in using friends info but why can't he go and open another account if you are determined to use his. Just delete one bank account and add another.

Easy Peasy - nice and easy

True GTran - always better to use your own - I just gave my advice on how to operate in the fashion he was intending. the new bank account would have to be place in the PA YP AL USER'S NAME - period.

setitoff 07-06-2011 02:46 PM

ok, thanks, got it. if we keep it like it is [his name] can he just transfer the money is his paypal account to someone else bank account? or is that a red flag?

GrannyT 07-06-2011 02:49 PM

You're not getting it are you setitoff? Read the threads or get hold of the guide. Everything you need is there but you do have to do some work.
