Paypal chargeback after 4 months FTW

Ok i am really pissed, I had a international order done, out side of ebay (through forums), in December 2007. Today I got a email from paypal saying the buyer did a chargeback, WTF?

My account apparently has -$440.00, this was a international order as well. (that is how much transaction was).

I sent it through USPS through delivery confirmation (had confirmation #) but no signature :X

Question is wth now? I dont want to loose $440 to a fradulent buyer! 4 months after, that is really lame that deal should have closed!

Damn ppal :(

Should I just close my account and run? What do I do? Verfied (45) member since 2004 on paypal really lame. Any chances of me winning this chargeback?

well if the package had no signature that means he didn't get the package. maybe calling your USPS and see weather the buyer has picked up the package or not. or just give paypal the tracking number and proof of delivery and you should win the case. i have a similar case, well my buyer did a charge back after 2 months and item was shipped to him and confirmed by a tracking with a signature. i won the dispute by giving paypal the tracking number

You didn't really win WIN it. Since buyer got his money back. If you're a buyer and filing charge back on something, chances are you will win. Especially if your card is American Express.

What happened to you is that PayPal protection against charge backs. You have a delivery confirmation, that's all they need.

I'd give paypal delivery confirmation number. I'd also go back to that transaction record and add delivery confirmation number.

When you check that delivery confirmation out, what does it say? (Is it a CN-22 form? CN-22 are not trackable)

For the future, always open an auction on eBay, for .99 cents, and the rest is shipping, like .99 cents and 99.01 for a 100 buck item. Buyer leaving you positive feedback is a prove of delivery. Also any e-mail they send that states they received it. Like them asking is that how it suppose to work.

how did USPS give you a tracking number for an international shipment? they don't offer that service, unless you send it with signature confirmation.

If you are from Australia, their PO allows tracking for international parcels. As a registered user with the PO you can also have eparcel
tracking. Don't forget the volume of items posted would be far far less
than the USA. They do not even have mail delivery on Saturday.
