Selected Checking for Savings Acct
 

Well this is a total N00B question, but I accidentally selected 'checking account' when I added my savings account to PP. Will I still get the 2 micro deposits??

I really don't think anyone can answer this unless they made the same exact mistake and happen to be reading this thread.

SO...its looks like you will become the forum expert on this subject in a very short time, whether you DO or DON'T get the deposits when selecting the wrong box for savings vs. checking.

Probably won't, I know it doesn't work when I've selected the wrong one for instant verification. So deposits probably will be the same. Better off just removing it and adding it again or if you think there's a chance wait first.

Guaranteed, 100% confirmed, I do it all the time. I once thought that my accounts looked less suspicious if I added a checking account to it, even though most of them were savings.

The problem though (I believe) is that they will not let you add funds from a savings account. But you can still write checks from a savings account, so it's actually to your advantage to select checking in case you need to add funds from there.

Paypal can't tell from an account number whether it's savings or checking, and the bank can't tell on the deposit because they go by the account number. Simple as that.

Maybe it depends on the bank or things have changed. I deleted the bank, added it back correctly, and I had the deposits shortly thereafter...

It doesn't depend on the bank. Paypal doesn't mark the deposit as a checking or savings deposit.... there is no way for them to tell. PayPal just wants to know.

Are you saying you didn't get the micro deposits when you clicked savings and it's a checking account? What bank?

I clicked checking by accident when I added my savings. Routing # was the same. I did not get any micro-deposits for about 36hrs. I then deleted the bank and re-added it properly as a savings account. The micro-deposits were there the next morning.

What bank did you use?


I've done that dozens of times, and never had an issue with the delay of the micro deposits.

I PM'd you the bank. I don't want to post it on the open forums. :spy:
