Purchased ebay/paypal account. They want 2 deposit amounts for verification. Help

I purchased a new ebay paypal account from a seller. They sent me the numbers to the bank account. Although not which bank it is. When I go into paypal, to verify it says I need to tell them the two deposits they made to the bank acount (1.95) is the balance in my paypal. Do they always use different amounts? Does anyone know how I can get this information? I have been trying to contact the seller but they will not email me back. Any help would be great. Thank you

Was the seller on this forum? Usual practise is for after-sales service.:typing:

if your paypal balance in $1.95 and there is no selling history..that means that this account has been verified with CC not bank account, is it US account? if they are asking about the 2 small amount they deposit in the bank account linked to this PP, and there is bank details in your PP profile then only who sold you the account can give you these 2 small amounts.

This is a perfect example of people who want everything handed to them.
These folks do not have enough knowledge to work the system and are not willing to do the homework.

I purchased ebay stealth, read it over and over many times. I purchased an ebay and paypal account from someone off this site. I did step by step, even purchasing a new computer, changing IP.. etc.. When I ask information, which is for the information on the accounts that I purchased, such as my ebay account that I just purchased, when I go to use it, they require proof of identity by faxing - I ask the person for that information and he says to PM and use the forums. I can't seem to find that information in the stealth book.

Not to be rude or anything.. but really?? you first need to know a little about ebay/pp before you even OPEN up a legit/stealth one.. get your feet wet

I am sorry to offend everyone with this post. Please don't be offended. I have sold on ebay for many years, and I have a valid paypal account. Yes, this is all new to me the Stealth Book. I have been reading it over and over. I thought that I was doing the right thing. I did purchase an account so I wouldn't "screw things up" the first time. When I got the accounts - paypal/ebay, I searched for days in the forums, and I tried to find out the information from the seller, and they just say to PM the admin or forums. I am sorry, just didn't know where to turn being that I am new to the Stealth and can't seem to find the information anywhere. Please forgive me if I upset everyone with this post. I am learning, well I am trying to.

mindi1976 . I will tell you why u get this MSG from ebay ( to prove ur ID) it could be one of 3:
1- if what you bought is a seller account already, and your seller created it from a state and your IP showing anther state, that might be the problem.

2- THE COMMON MISTAKE..take what ever name you have in this account ( try to google it if the the first OR the last name not correct then thats why you are getting this MSG. Example..if the first name or the last name is John then its ok coz there is someone name is John, but if the name is Johatedema, i dont think there someone name like this so eb will ask you to prove it.

3- Check the address is it valid, is the phone number state or city matching the telephone number? if not then thats why

That's not entirely true, I've been selling on accounts all over the US with ip's from the other side of the country and out of state area codes even with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ addresses for quite awhile. You get asked for proof of identity because of what you're listing or how your listing, which is why you get the message after you put your listing up.

jBluntz, you are right that is why i said 1 of three ....but the selling behavior will coz one of 2 MC999 or selling limit, not prove of ID

I listed 4 small items around the house and with in hours they were all taken down. I got a message that I needed to contact ebay through a link and identify my account. They don't seem to do chat anymore (I found a post stating to do that) Here are the questions asked

(1) Date of Birth
(2) first names have you also known by?
they were basic names like Ken, Bob, Bill..
(3) did you create this ebay account?
yes or no
That is when they asked me to fax proof identity and address

I am not sure if there is a way around faxing proof of identity and address.
I know this is my first thread and it seems as though I upset a lot of people. Honestly I did purchase the book, and I have been since the beginning of August going through posts over posts. I am not looking to waste any ones time and I am terribly sorry if I upset any of you. Please understand I am really trying to educate myself before I post. I was told by the seller of the account this is where I can find the answers.

if your using a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name i don't see anywhere in the book about getting around faxing your identity?

you shouldnt list right away you should wait at least a month browsing items you would "like to buy" looking at how to sell. pretend your a new user to ebay. this should get you off the radar and you can start selling

Yes I read that in the book, I placed a few items in my watched list, went and asked a few questions about selling, browsed quite a bit. In the book it states it is okay for small items but wait 30 days for high risk items. My items were not high risk at all. If they are low risk the book says I can sell immediately. The account was made in the beginning of August, I waited almost 2 weeks to start listing 4 low risk items.
I am hoping my post may help others in case they do the same

What kind of ip were you using?
