Just a quick heads up...Paypal is cracking down
 

They are getting ready for the holidays, make sure all your phones are ready to be answered. In the next 3 months, paypal will be calling you almost every time you withdraw, and prepare for 21 day holds... They are coming back even on good accounts... My near TRS accounts are even getting the 21 day hold now and they are almost a year old!!

Noticed policy changes last week. Always means changes to their methods. Sighs.

Constant battle to beat them.

I just got a 21 day hold on an account that is 1 1/2 years old with more then 300 fb.

If this is true, what the hell? Some powersellers will need additional staff just to deal with PP.

Bad but what can you do except spread...

I guess I should be expecting 10 paypal calls a day...lol

what is the 21 daY HOLD .. i just opened an accoount and today they put the 21 day hold on .. will they take it off

yes they will take the hold off, to get the hold off sooner get the buyer to call paypal to tell them yea they purchased an item from you and everything went smoothly

I am registered via mobile so I am off shopping to get 25 cheap mobiles - expenses expenses expenses.

When I go out now, I will have to carry a bag with all the mobiles in there. Some radiation!

Additionally... E bay is calling all sellers right now about the new changes going into effect. It's an 801 area code. Sometimes i answered, until i figured out it was the same script read stuff from some young 16 year old lol ebay supports summer jobs for kids! I just basically listened, now i let it goto voice mail. Since i know the number

how are they with voicemail right now, do they leave a message or hit the limit button?

Not with the seller new details call.. but if its a regular inquiry it'd be instant limit as usual . The call is just to let you know about the new changes..offering 14 day returns etc.. I actually prefer 14 days because stupid buyers open cases quick because they actually think our return policies matter.. eBay doesn't care which is why I find it funny

How do you get paypal to call? Everytime I link a phone to my paypal and withdraw they never call, not once. I usually withdraw about $400-$500 at a time sometimes 3 times a day even, I just want paypal to call me at least once, what am I doing wrong? please help..

They call during the holidays. Maybe its my tethering ips. But its been much better than it was during Christmas last year. I'd sometimes get 2 Calls a day. I'm not sure what you sell but my items can be high risk. Sales are terrible right now. Returns have been higher than normal but that's the price of trying new items. Maybe I should just sell DVDs like everyone else lol

Is this something that applies to UK members? Christ, I dont even think the number I used to register my stealth account even works anymore. I used one of those VOIP landline number providers when I set up my account a few months ago, it worked to begin with, but last time I tried to call the number it didnt even ring, the line just went dead! So if they try and ring me they will get nowhere, what will happen then? Will I get banned? I ought to revise my phone number ASAP and create a new working landline number I guess. What does anyone think?

Reading all the post before yours, it sounds like PP will call and see if the number works. If the number doesn't work the account can get suspended.

On the bight side, if your account were suspended you wouldn't have to worry about your bad DSR's. And you could use all the advice you received here for a fresh start and will be a TRS in no time.

Why would you want pay pal to call?

Ebay calls me every time there is an update to ask if I need anything or have any questions that need answered. They also ask if I would like a free $500 business consultation as well. Sometimes on the phone for 10 min or more.

Just a normal deal now.

Never in many years have I been called by Paypal for anything. I am doing what Jbluntz is doing and withdrawing daily sometimes more and never get calls.

Must be what you guys sell and how you sell it.

7 year old account, by the way. Called less than a minute after hitting the button to submit request for the check. Fast folks!

He is starving for attention and wants pp to call him so he can chat about not being called. Maybe he feels left out.

You're right, maybe I need to start calling them up and ask why they're letting me get away with so much, sometimes I feel like they know who I am already and they're letting me do whatever I want on purpose? it's really weird..

I agree they have hardly ever called in YEARS, Ive got a couple of customer calls, they all hit voicemail. Actually I hate answering any phone, even my real one ,as it is never convenient....

IMO in the UK you should always have a working landline number. The cost is so small it is silly not to

You should always have a working #. Not only does PP call, but E-Bay calls me all the time too. If the line is dead, Red Flag!

Not only that, but there are always stress case buyers that don't have patience for e-mail and will pull up your phone #, so they can call you for the instant services their problems always need. If the phone is dead, expect NFB, reports to E-Bay, nasty e-mails.

A working # is a given.

ebay I never get calls either, but I opt out of all that stuff as soon as I set up my ebay account at bottom of preference page. As for paypal.....not once in years.... and I prefer that exclusive club. :clap:

im selling ipads on ioffer and just got an offer for 10 for 5,5000.Will they freeze my account if i accept this offer?Im worried now.

I wish I could also opt out of annoying customer calls, that prefer the phone over e-mail. They are usually much ruder on the phone verses e-mail.

ive only answered once, and it was annoying. so now i just dont answer unless it's ebay or paypal area codes.... which i forgot. i think 801 and 402 are ebay/pp right? or is it 406? i forget lol it has been awhile for me. if i am forgotten i just answer

good way to avoid random eb@y phone calls is to go to account / communication preferences / click show all / scroll to the bottom and and untick all the boxes , they will then never call with any more random updates or questionares ect , only then will they call if its a specific account question regarding your account

They still called about the new seller changes. So i would say it doesn't block all their telemarketing

ive never received a call from eb@y in 5 years from doing this method , p@ypal is another question they just love to talk

maybe its different in the us from uk though

so what happens if your # is invalid? They restrict your account and how do you get it back up again? Just by adding a new phone and doing phone verification?
