I was invited to join the new paypal expanded paypal seller protection.

Should I join?

benefit:

no $5000 claim limit
unconfirmed address is covered.

Why should you not? Is there a fee or something? It's pretty new so there's not much information about it.

Seems pretty fine though...

I got one of those too. But I wasn't quite sure what they really offering beyond putting a gun to my head. All you have to do is show proof of delivery of item in the event of a charge-back. Isn't that already protocol? Or because the "unconfirmed addresses" can be disputed? Not a problem when you consider some buyers use "non de plum" when they sign for their packages. But what is the point? A confirmed buyer could be a competitor. There is no perfect buyer under such harsh guidelines to begin with. What seller protection? Paypal is offering we "pay", or "buy" protection from them to ward off who? Can we get protection against Ebay?

HI GUys.. I was wondering.. is there a "catch".. do they make you LINK your ebay/paypal accts??
--They will not give u the 1% cash back like Discover card unless u LINK..
-so is this the catch or no? I havent tried it..

Paypal Protecting sellers.. How about buyers??

I had a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ item shipped to me, I shipped it back-paypal verified--then sends me this memo:

Dear xxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx,

After careful review, we have concluded our investigation of the Buyer
Complaint described below.

We have decided in your favor, however, we were unable to recover any funds
from the seller's account. As stated in the PayPal User Agreement, recovery
of funds associated with a Buyer Complaint cannot be guaranteed.

Please know that we will make our best effort to recover the funds in
question if they become available in the seller's account in the future and
will take appropriate action against the seller. Such action may include
issuing a warning, a temporary restriction, or terminating the account.
Keep in mind that PayPal uses a number of factors to determine when to take
action, including member complaints. Due to privacy laws, we cannot discuss
the details of any action taken. We hope you understand our policy and that
it assures you that you are safe using PayPal.
