Refund from another account? Does that expose me to dispute?

I was just wondering, if I buy something and things go wrong, what if the seller would offer me a refund, but pays it from another paypal account?

If there has been a week since I did the original payment, doesn't that give the seller a week to dispute his refund payment just after the dispute period of my original payment has ended? That would leave me with a loss right, since I would also have sent back the item I bought...

Thanks

Why would it matter as long as you got your money. Send the item back and if you dont get your money file a claim. Simple. I dont see any issue. If he sends it with another account who cares as long as you got the money right? what am I missing.

The thing is, I wouldn't be getting my money in the end.

I have made a payment for a purchase, which I can dispute for say 45 days. I let the seller know I am not happy and I want a refund. Ok, seller gives me a refund say on day 10. I send the goods back and all seems well. But he sent me the refund as a separate payment in paypal.

But then on day 46 after the original payment the seller disputes the payment done as a 'refund', he still has 10 days to do so. I can no longer dispute my original payment with paypal, the period has expired. So the seller has his goods back and now also gets his 'refund' payment back.

This leaves me down my original payment... i lose.

Anyone?

Has this happened?

Not the tone of how the forum works.

Or are you planning ahead?

:spy:

hehe, not planning ahead, i dont have that kind of patience.

But you would think it could happen like that right?

That does not happen - or very very rarely so your logic is quite faulty.

Its a scenario that can happen yes but out there a bit. sounds like preparation from you really. Or just a very paranoid person. dont worry about it. pay with a CC and then you have the backing of a chargeback if you want to go deep into what all can happen.
