Taking over someone else's Paypal account

I am going to be using someone else's paypal account. I am actually buying their ebay and paypal account. How do I switch them over to a new name without making it look suspicious? Won't they flag me for switching the names and bank information?

What's the point in buying someone else's Paypal account? You can easily create an account with an ING.com account, and a prepaid card like simion.

Any changes you make could lock the account.

does the paypal account already have a ss# assigned to it? maybe you could just do a bank change, and leave the rest of the info.

HI, Guys.. a PP acct is a tricky one.. It contains Personal banking and Credit info..
I personally would advise AGAINST buying someones pp acct..
PLUS >>>>>>> What "IF" there are $10.000 in chargebacks in the pipeline?
>>> What if its a Hi-Jacked acct?

Please ...be careful.....

I know the person very well. She has over a 200 rating and doesn't have any recent activity on the account. Her account was opened with ebay back in 1998 so it is golden. I figured that all I needed to do was swap her credit card information with a new gift card and then pay the fees through paypal?

never change the name they gonna suspend you,
change passwd, security questions and email address
than update bank account and credit card
don't do everything together in the same time.

Whatever you do DO NOT change the name, that will raise a red flag for sure.

mantisinc 03-28-2008 03:06 PM

You can't change the NAME on the account, can you??

ASpkin - Regarding ING Direct savings account,

https://banking2.ingdirect.com/savin...l.vm?type=3000

do I give them my real checking account or my virtual bank account, the one I use with PayPal?

thelizardking 03-28-2008 06:39 PM

Give them your real info...

Thechronicles 03-28-2008 07:34 PM

if i were you i would never ever do that, you are taking alot of risks

-could be chargebacks
-could be linked to a suspended account
-could have unverified info. which can hurt you later on

but if your going to buy their account(s)
make sure

-your within 50-100 miles of that person (ip address reasons)
-change your ip address (guessing your buying the accounts because yours got suspended, remember to delete cookies everytime before you go on ebay, and never open any emails ebay sends you, they put a tracking device in your emails but if you change your ip address you dont have to worry about anyting, just dont ever log into your previous suspended ebay or paypal accounts w.e. the reason maybe)

it would also be a smart thing if you knew the person personally so he doesnt screw you over.

Goodluck.

yeah, you can't change the name without sending a name change request to paypal. and it's not even a full name change request. it's just a name correction. like for a mispelling. i tried to do this because i mispelled my wifes last name incorrectly on purpose. i did this because i did not want to use the exact same last name as mine. this kind of back-fired, because i could not confirm her ss#, so i requested a name correction 3 times. but of course never received a response from paypal.

Thechronicles 03-29-2008 10:12 AM

you have to call paypal, i had the same problems waited weeks and weeks but when i called them they changed the name within 30sec. kind of hard to believe, even i was surprised but try calling them.
