Funding Paypal using my bank account...

Hello forum,

I want to open up a Paypal account with my real info and add a bank account to pay for Christmas stuff. Now, I tried to do this a while back. And I failed miserably. I signed up for Paypal, verified my email and everything. I added my savings bank account and verified within 3 days. All good until I added funds from the bank. The process went smoothly right up to the point where the transaction was finished. I got the email saying the money was now in my Paypal balance but 5 minutes later I get another email saying my account has been limited. Now, what did I do wrong?! I have been reading this website for over a year now and I feel like I know my way around Paypal. I manage 4 other stealth accounts and they're still in good standing. *

So I called Paypal and got to talking with a representative saying that they needed more information like my bank statement, picture ID, etc. and if I didn't provide that info they were gonna hold my newly transferred money for 180 days! Wow. That account was strictly for buying and Paypal limits me! So, my question is: if I were to create a new Paypal, add my bank account, verify the basic stuff, and instead of funding my account, can I just pay directly with my bank? What reason would Paypal have to limit my account?

This is weird - I am going to hold my comment until I see other folx chime in. 1st q - How much did you upload? 2nd q - Any past pa yp al accounts using similar info (address, IP, contact details, etc EVEN FAMILY) that have been suspended in the past?

Thanks for reading my wall of text :)

And to be honest, I don't think I have any relatives that know what PayPal is, nor have one. I've only logged into my PayPal accounts on my home computer which logs on using different IP's every time.

What was the amount uploaded? Not a problem - though your text is somewhat diarrhea-isque heh - it's worthwhile to understand this situation so long as you are telling the truth i.e. you have done NOTHING else with the account and it's new.

The amount was rather large... $3000. And the account was brand new, about a week old. Like I said, the account is just for buying stuff not selling.

I can see paypal points they like to see a bunch of transaction instead of one large one so the only way to accomplish this is by transferring money over and over again work your way up to 3k

Also you might be better off doing echeck vs transferring the money into your account IMO good luck!

Ok, so a little update: I have added my bank account, verified it and things 'seem' good. I added a debit card to the account just to have one on file even though the card has a balance of $5. So, now I want to purchase something... The account is 3 days old today. Is this a good idea? How much could I spend? I don't want to give Paypal any reason to limit my account or suspend me. I just want to make one purchase today. $299 Xbox.

Sure that should work pp might still block the transaction or make you do a echeck I notice pp only let you do instant transfers only after you have spent some money using debit card.

Just a tip (and take it for what it's worth) : I still like to do purchases on pp using my credit card because if there any problems, I have my cc company willing to support me...think about it.
