Way around PayPal - beta version of an idea

Gentlemen, PayPal account is needed to sell things on eBay. It isn't a question anymore of how to setup a good PayPal account, it is a question of how to sell things on eBay.

I dreamed of a way around this requirement.

When you go on to list something, you enter a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal e-mail address.

Within your listing, make a plea, that you prefer MO or check instead, or that you also offer secure online credit card processing through a highly respected credit card processor. Could be google, could be your merchant account. Whatever, you'll be sending them an invoice through either one.

Should the buyer send money to ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal, you tell him you never received the money because you made a mistake while entering paypal e-mail address in your listing. Tell him to check his e-mail for an invoice, and instructions on how to pay.

Alternatively, you can use your real paypal account (verified and confirmed, and associated with a suspended eBay account) to send an invoice to him. Linking will not occur if you specify it is not an eBay item.

I'll be trying this today.

goodluck, let me know how this works out for you.

This will be a dead end for 2 reasons.

In the UK, you can only enter a PP account that is premier or business. It auto-detects this, so if you enter a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ addy, it will not accept this.

Secondly, we have already seen someones listings removed because in their description, they said they did not want to be paid via paypal.

US, different...

I'm using a different approach. I don't tell them I don't accept paypal, I tell them paypal is accepted.

There are two different ways of communicating, through words, and through actions. 92% of human communication is none verbal. Thus what I say has very little to do with what I really say.

If I tell you, I highly prefer money orders and checks, and also other online payment method, and then after auction is over I tell you, oops, I think I entered a wrong paypal address, but dont' worry, I send you an invoice just follow that link and pay for your auction..... I just communicated to you I hate paypal and chances of you paying to me with paypal are remote, and I didn't even say I don't accept paypal. But my actions said that.

extensions, This is what I have been doing for two weeks and it works fine. (keep in mind I am a small seller). I hardly ever sell vero or big name/ticket items.
