selling on craigslist getting paid with paypal.

I opened an ebay account recently, but before i start selling high risk items with a new account, i figured i could sell on craigslist & get paid with paypal. Just curious, since the transactions wont be coming threw ebay, when i send an invoice to the customer from craigslist, if what im selling is ranging from 100-300 per item, will paypal limit my account because they cant see what im selling like they can with ebay? The paypal account i opened recently, is bank verifed, social verified & a credit card etc and i have no intentions of pulling all the money out the second i get it, will be updating paypal with tracking once shipped... If someone can let me know that'd be great, because i definitely dont want to deal with another frozen paypal!!

Haha, you are fine. The less details on the transaction, the better.

I do the same on CL and also work on an e-commerce site that pulls no details into PP except for an invoice number, works awesome.

I hope you know what you are doing by selling on craigslist and getting paid with pp. If you don't be prepared to lose a lot of money.

i would stay away from accepting payments on paypal payments on craigslist its asking for trouble just my opinion though

How do you prove delivery of the item if a dispute is placed?

lol Craigslist and paypal, two words that all people should stay away from when they apply to the same selling listing.

If your going to do this, I would make another paypal account and verfiy it without your SS#. Only supply it when they ask for it, not when you sign up for it, but that's just me.

I have had some great experiences when I have offered it to people and it's not the typical "Nigerian" scam, which is the type of scenario that I guess most of you are referring to. If not, then who knows what has happened to those of you that are freaking out about it.

I sell items that are under $100, but I always offer PP as an option and have never been scammed. I try and make sure they have a registered PP account with confirmed address as often as I can, but that's about it.

Why would you bother with pp for craigslist when there are other ways of payment?

Craigslist attracts professional scamers. All they do all day long is try to buy stuff. They are at best just looking for info and at worst using stolen accounts. Or whatever the scam of the day is. You will get so screwed its not even silly. I post on CL for my standalone site if I'm having a sale. But they need to go to my site to buy. 80% of the emails I get are from scammers. They dont even have time to put the name of what you are selling in email they send so many. Its always generic cut and paste: Interested in your "item" and want to know condition and final price.... After awhile you can spot the scam emails a mile away because they could be for an ipod or a bowflex with exact wording. I have had the exact email, word for word on 6 posts all in a mater of minutes from different email addresses.

CL is great for local stuff. But you are asking for full on misery if selling anything of value

Item will be two days on its way in the mail and they will chargeback or if its a stolen pp account...

Not worth it
