Can Paypal hold money that was sent from another paypal account?
 

Hi everyone! I have a quick question.

I've sold some things to a friend a few states away, then made a paypal account so i could get the money.

Then, today i noticed this on the top of my pp account.. "From now on, money you receive will be temporarily held in a pending balance. To learn more, please read our"

Well my friend is going to send the money in a day or two and my question is, since the transaction was not through ebay, and hes just going to send the money from his paypal account to mine, will that money still be held or will i not be able to send it to my bank account?

Paypal will hold funds for anything.

Been discussed a lot recently.

Nowdays even 'off' ebay transactions are subjected to holds.

Simpky, paypal is getting much stricter with account holders :juggle:

Welcome to the forums - All the best as you read around. PP likely placed a hold due to repeat activity that was suspicious.

GreenBean - how long is it after a new account is formed before they lift the 21 day holds...very annoying :)

i got that type of hold 2 months ago but it was only holding for payments from ebay it didnt hold any money for payments outside of ebay

Different criteria apply for the holds :peace:

Sit down. Take a deep breath. Even that is slowly starting to change.

As you can imagine, I keep notes on all of this to keep up with paypal.
