Regarding phoning paypal for release of funds.
 

Hey there,

Just a quick little question regarding paypal and something a rather polite agent of theirs told me. I am going through the usual 21 day hold and after a few days I called them to try and negotiate release of the funds seeing as the product(s) was (were) delivered and it shows up on the tracking info. All very straight forward and remarkably easy which is great.

Now my question is. . . When I was talking to the agent he had given me a song and dance about this being a one time thing and normally they /do not/ release funds early. I don't really have any intention of hammering their call center ranting like a nut about a few bucks (I don't do a lot of transactions yet) so I can totally imagine such a thing might happen but I'm curious if anyone else has had this kind of problem or if it's just off handed stuff to keep people from being pests. :juggle:

Kind of simple really but I was just curious.

i have had paypal tell me that a UPS signed for parcel was not enough for the tracking,and i had to email more info in:doh: i just phoned again, spoke to someone else and the funds were taken off hold. i guess some people like to be dicks... hey if i worked for paypal i would be a dick to.

but yes paypal do release the funds if you have tracking info AND they have had there item for over 3 days, or if feedback has been left for you. (thats how it is in the uk anyway)

ummmm, slightly off topic.

I call them all the time to release my funds. The trick is be VERY friendly. Crack a joke here and there. It's always easier to talk to someone and get them to do something when they are comfortable with you and don't feel like they are talking to a total stranger. Haven't had a problem yet with this. NEVER had someone tell me what the agent told you.
