Anybody elses Paypal debit card suck!! Like it lasts 4 months!
 

I have gone through 3 Paypal debit cards in the past year and it is really getting on my nerves! The stupid magnetic strip starts having issues after about 3 months and then about 4 months it won't swipe anywhere, no matter what. And I hate how they have to turn your card off for like 3 weeks while they send you a new one!

i have the same problem with my banks debit cards, they always wear out after 4-5 months , when i use it at 7/11 the guys always put a plastic bag over the strip, then swipe it and it works lol

My bank debit cards usually last like a year and half, and I use them more than my Paypal debit card.

Yeah, about the 3 month marker they start doing the plastic bag trick, and then about 4 months that won't even work anymore and they gotta pull out those dynosaur of a machine to get the imprint!

What happens is that the plastic bag acts as a sort of cleaner and removes the ultra tiny
spots of dirt that are on most strips. Same happens if you rub the strip on a jersey.

Ive used the same bank card for a couple years (its about to expire) but never had a problem w/ the strip..its pretty worn too

I heard a lot about that problem when I used to work for a credit card company a long time ago. It depends how you have your cards stored. If its in your wallet, make sure you keep it away from the magnetic closure of the wallet. The magnet demagnatizes the strip and removes all the info. Make sure other objects in your purse/wallet dont rub or scratch up against them either cause it scratches the strip. And also be sure not to cram them all together in a tight place/area in your wallet cause the strip will get all stuck to the other cards and rub off. You basically just have to protect the strip.
