PayPal says bank account confirmed after I deleted it???
 

After my ebay account got suspended I went into the paypal account linked with it and removed my credit card and checking account information. I received confirmation that it was removed and double checked my profile and no bank accounts were listed.

It has been about a week and I just got an email from service@paypal dot com that says

Dear xxxxx xxxxxx,

Congratulations, your bank account was confirmed successfully through our instant confirmation process.

Your sending limit has been lifted. You can now add funds to your PayPal account from the bank account you just confirmed.

Is this something I should be worried about?

oscar_98, I think this may be a phishing email not from PP. I have gotten the same email 8-10 times over the past 3 weeks, even though my accounts are frozen.

If it has your name in the email it's not a phishing email.

It could just be delayed?

Yes, it has my name in it, and I just got a second one. I had 2.00 left in the account and I transferred that to my bank and then removed the checking account. I am leaning towards what Modee has said, that they may be trying to confirm the account even though I want it removed.

I'm wondering if I should just close that checking account? It would be a royal pain in the butt to close it, but I don't want paypal touching it.

I did not pay the over 500.00 seller fees they asked for when they suspended my ebay account. I know it's a long shot, but the only payment method I had on file for ebay was the paypal debit card for this same paypal account. Is there any chance that they are trying to add that checking account back in so they can take the seller fees???
