Which Phone # will PayPal/EBay call?
 

I would like to know if PayPal/EBay will call the number on your PayPal first or the number in the public records? What do you guys think on this?

I know they call me on the number I register with them

My calls have always been from the number on the account:typing:

I do not want to think about that public record comment at all

In addition, it is always advised to have a working number on file. if you miss the call or the number is not functional, it may cause damage to your account

Here's a good piece of advice.

I use vonage and for every account I pay $4.95 a month for a virtual number and it diverts to my cell phone. It also costs about $11 to set it up but if you see ebay as a business then this is a small price to pay in the overall picture.

If I have to phone paypal or ebay I use a spoof app on my iphone and put the virtual number in it so as far as they are concerned all numbers match, even between the accounts and there is no cause for alarm and they will use phone number checking if you have to call them. If its a different number they will casualy ask if this the home number or primary and look for a check against whilest they are talking to you.

You will find it on cydia which means that you have to have your iphone jailbroken but thats no great deal.
