Paypal can get my ssn automatically?
 

I never provided ssn to paypal, but when I login my paypal account, under my personal info -> Tax ID number, I can see

Tax ID number
Social Security Number: xxx-xx-1234

last 4 digits are right my ssn, so does that mean paypal already got my whole ssn without my confirmation or they only have my last 4 digits?? anybody has the same situation?

I do not know if PayPal does this, but all three credit bureaus WILL, for business customers with "permissible purpose" append social security numbers to names and addresses in a file for between 10-25 cents per record.

What's the full story here?

No way out of nothing did paypal go looking for a SSN.

This is the only one paypal I use, I have a limited ebay account link to this paypal, but paypal never ask me ssn, I don't know where they get my ssn....

I read your earlier thread (from last year).

Your post said that you supplied ALL your real information to ebay.

That info supplied would be enough for paypal to use to 'seek' more info about you.
It worked as they got your SSN.

Do you understand ebay/paypal are the same company & share details should an account be under investigation :spy:
