| ebayhateluv | 01-05-2008 09:44 PM | New Accounts (0 feedback), PayPal a requirement?, and VERO - a discussion Hi:
Tried to relist a Brand item today.. I relisted it 5 days ago-no problem. today- recd the message:
We put limits on accts... (blah blah blah)--
then, you must LINK your paypal acct to list this item, or you must open a paypal acct..
ANYONE else seen this??
**Work around-- I just chnaged up the title ,scrambled the letters, and it did not end up a relist, but it listed, i had to upload photos again,, but got it to go.. |
| aspkin | 01-06-2008 05:44 AM | Nice work, yeah most of these go on keywords you choose in your title, and categories you list in. Go EBay!! |
| gitrooman | 02-16-2008 01:40 PM | New Accounts (0 feedback), PayPal, and VERO - a discussion It seems, after reading every post i can get my hands on about vero items, that ebay is easier to fool than paypal. People who use ebay/paypal are able to list their items, but just have trouble takign their money out of paypal, cause when they see some heavy money flowing through, they limit you. However, if you sell vero items on ebay but accept payment with a merch account it is much easier to keep the money. The only problem with that is some customers shy away from 3rd party merchants.
This however can be changed if someone could get their hands on a vero item verified sellers certificate from which we can forge to use as proof for paypal.
Does ebay ask for this certificate aswell? Do 3rd party merchant accounts? |
| k1ley4evr | 02-16-2008 01:42 PM | Try ccnow. It has really worked out for me so far. Just sucks that they hold your money for a month the first time. |
| gitrooman | 02-16-2008 01:49 PM | yeah, i made an account with them a month ago, but haven't been able to make the docs for ebay. (i'm not sure what they want as proof, ie what pages i should print out.) |
| k1ley4evr | 02-16-2008 01:57 PM | try asking ebatehateluv, shes the queen of ccnow. Or just pretend that you accept paypal, but send them a ccnow auction at the end. |
| gitrooman | 02-16-2008 07:59 PM | what do you do when they ask you for your SS#? |
| Rosanna | 02-16-2008 09:44 PM | He's in Canada, that lucky guy! |

| Rosanna | 02-16-2008 11:26 PM | chris, ivegotinfo proposed that awhile ago to help us out here. I think it's a great idea, but then we go back to the issue of proxy's working. You could use one to sign up for pp, eb, and to verify etc, and then do most of your work through auctiva which supports canadian ebay customers also. |
| koalawash | 02-16-2008 11:32 PM | Yeah but maybe there are some Canadian VPNs? |
| lunamoon | 02-18-2008 07:07 PM | hi..sorry, i'm newbie in this forum, what is CCnow? thanks a lot! |
| koalawash | 02-18-2008 07:43 PM | CCnow is a third-party online payment processor that lets you accept Paypal without actually having a Paypal account. I used to use it briefly, and its fine if you don't mind waiting every two weeks or whatever to receive your money. |
| becca073 | 05-04-2008 01:54 PM | New account + vero items + PayPal. You must sell with PayPal if you sell VERO items? How do sellers get around th selling on eBay on a new account, vero items (whatever they might be) and having to take PayPal?? I tried on a newbie account just to see what would happen. Not an expensive Vero, but vero nonetheless. As soon as the listing ended and the payment came in, my PayPal was limited and they requested all that BS information, social, etc. in order to remove the limited. Do you have to let the accounts season or a while, selling lesser items and buying stuff using the PayPal account or?? Any suggestions would be great. |
| jscan | 05-04-2008 08:12 PM | the information to you question is widely talked about on this forum, take a look around and you will find the answers to your questions :) |
| ivegotinfo | 05-04-2008 09:09 PM | wow jscan please stop posting these useless posts.
long ago i started selling right away, 1 item a week,
nowadays the 30+ days then a few random items + 1 vero item a week to start. |
| jscan | 05-04-2008 09:16 PM | ivegotinfo, this is something that has been addressed in multiple posts, it doesnt hurt to indicate that so why dont you just calm down and stop kicking up a fuss. |
| GreenBean | 05-04-2008 09:41 PM | jscan, I laughed at your first 75 posts like this. Now it is over done and certainly no help
Geez, I recall your first posts. We did try to help you or have you forgotten?. |
| jscan | 05-05-2008 07:09 AM | Hmmm before i posted those couple of questions i did spend quite a bit of time making sure they were not posted before hand ? |
| GreenBean | 05-05-2008 07:20 AM | Come On My memory of your first posts were that you had a bit of an attitude. Much mellowed now I hasten to add.
Back off a bit on some of the users that have not as many posts as you. Correct me if I am wrong but I notice that most of your questions get a helpful answer?
Try yourself. |
| imjustme | 06-11-2008 01:43 PM | VERO items + 0 feedback account = Abusing eBay suspension I did a bit of testing the waters with a few accounts in the past days. It seems that eBay suspends all accounts with 0 feedback that list a brand name item. No matter how old. I tested it with several accounts and found this: Quote:
Account 1 (0 feedback, 2 months old US account):
1. Listed 4 no-brand items. They sold fine.
2. Waited 5 days and listed an item of which the trademark holder is an eBay 'VERO' member.
3. Within 15 minutes, the account was suspended with the "Abusing eBay" message.
Account 2 (0 feedback, 1 month old Japan account):
1. Listed an item of which the trademark holder is an eBay 'VERO' member.
2. Within 5 minutes, the account was suspended, also with the "Abusing eBay" message.
Account 3 (1 feedback, 20 days old US account):
1. Listed the same VERO item, for 3 days, sold without problems.
Account 4 (4 feedback, 2 months old Japan account):
1. Listed the same VERO item, for 5 days, sold without problems.
| From the above, you can see I lost 2 '0 feedback' accounts with the same item that sold fine with the 2 other accounts that did have 1 and 4 feedback each. I even used the same pictures, the same description and everything, down to the same title and subtitle for the listing.
I think eBay has some kind of "auto-kill" system for '0 feedback' accounts that list items which belong to their VERO program members. My guess is they do that to keep the watching they need to do down to a minimum, by immediately suspending the new accounts that list a risky item, so they only need to keep a human eye on the other already established (1+ feedback) accounts. |
| octagon69 | 06-11-2008 06:26 PM | Thanks for testing this out IMjustme. I wonder if I recieve positive feedback from buying is the same as positive feedback from selling. I guess I'll find out. |
| Sammi007 | 06-11-2008 06:57 PM | Thanks for the info imjustme.....
I received the abusing ebay e-mail yesterday, accompanied with the suspension of course :) ...but I had a feedback of 60 + turning over at least 4k a month....
I think the computers at the ebay HQ's are going CRAZY!
Or someone reported my items as high risk! |
| ebayhateluv | 06-11-2008 11:29 PM | HI: Imjust me,, have you tested this with the pre 11/07 accts?
(Before they instituted all the new rules)?? |
| imjustme | 06-12-2008 01:31 AM | No, they're all new accounts. Unfortunately I only have 1 pre 11/07 account and I'm never going to use it unless my life depends on it :D |
| ebayhateluv | 06-12-2008 05:58 AM | LOL...
I am the opposite-- I stopped creating accts a few months ago-- with all the new rules/regs--the pre 11/07 accts are the only ones staying alive for me/ stealth accts..:) |

Really?
I have accounts from February that I am using to sell 8 vero items per day. I have an account I created at the beginning of this month that I am selling about 5 vero items per day on. |
| imjustme | 06-13-2008 06:06 AM | I create accounts every day. You never know when it's going to be worse than now so better be prepared. |
| ebayhateluv | 06-13-2008 10:06 AM | Imjustme,,, I bet you do not have 9 kids on Summer Vac right now , tearing up the house, either, bugging to get shuttled to the mall, or to the Verizon store for a new cell phone ?? :) :) |
| imjustme | 06-13-2008 02:25 PM | I have 0 kids and a wife that works just as much as I do :D |
| ambercolour | 06-13-2008 11:20 PM | wow if i had 9 kids i be training them all how to make ebay/paypal accounts :D |
| imjustme | 06-14-2008 02:02 AM | I'm thinking about having some kids now ... |
| fashionfriendly | 08-26-2008 09:12 PM | Vero limits on designer items; create multiple ebay accounts Hello, I have been reading the posts and they are so helpful. Sorry if this has already been answered. I sell vero items (clothing; all designer authentic items); however I have been hit with limits on my powerseller account. No problems w/authenticity, have 100% feedback; BUT I need to sell more than they are letting me list, which right now is only about 20 items per month. ( I was selling 70-80. I read alot about people creating multiple accounts but do you have experience creating multiple accounts to increase the number of items you can sell to to get around the vero limitations? Ie., just sell 10 or 15 on one account, open up many more and keep listing on multiple ids? thank you. |
| Quasi_Mojo | 08-26-2008 09:26 PM | Were you given any reason why they limited the number of items you sell?
I think the best person to ask about multiple account usage is Modee. |
| alexzin | 08-27-2008 09:43 PM | I never knew that we can easliy change up the title to relist the item for account without linking verified us paypal?I will give it a try. Thanks for sharing! |
| ebayhateluv | 08-27-2008 11:53 PM | Yes indeed..Mr.Modee has the answers!!
Go Modee ! :) |
| fashionfriendly | 08-28-2008 08:06 AM | Hi Quasi Mojo, the prompt I get is the one that reads "In order to keep Ebay safe; limits are sometimes placed on accounts' please do not try to list this item for 30 days." etc.
They are limiting usage of all designer names in the titles (for me); and I find that if I don't use the designer name to describe it (that is what it is after all); it just doesn't sell. |
| fashionfriendly | 08-28-2008 08:07 AM | "I never knew that we can easliy change up the title to relist the item for account without linking verified us paypal?I will give it a try. Thanks for sharing!"
Hello Alexzin, I don't understand this. Do you mean "us" united states? I would like to read up on what you are referring to ; or pls. explain. thanks! |
| fashionfriendly | 08-28-2008 07:18 PM | ebayhateluv, when you say:
**Work around-- I just chnaged up the title ,scrambled the letters, and it did not end up a relist, but it listed, i had to upload photos again,, but got it to go..
Do you mean that you mix up and misspell the designer name? if so do you find that your items still sell if you are trying to sell designers and they are misspelled? I find I get 0 action on any designer items that are not properly spelled. thanks | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:53 PM. | |
