VCC expiry

How do you deal with short expiry VCC providers, and by short I mean 1 year?

Are there providers with longer life cards?

Or does it only matter if you accidentally hit the card with a charge? Will pp start pestering you if it expires, or only if an expired card is hit with an attempted charge (that, say, jumps over paypal balance)?

Or do you just get physical gift cards, do they last longer?

Your paypal is still verified even after your vcc expiring.

With vccs its usually just 1 year.

Could buy another vcc again.

Can anyone give a detailed experience of what happens when the card expires? Does the paypal account become unusable, or only so if the transactions it's involved in are high volume?

It becomes unusable to buy stuff if there is no other funding source on the account. Never a good idea to have "nothing" attached to a Paypal, even if it is verified.

paypal wants to 'see' an active card on the account.

They are looking for some sort of security against transactions.

The account gets a notice the card is going to expire.

This may happen several times. It means the account is flagged.

For paypal UK, it was difficult last year to get rid of that notice even after a new card was added.

Have post in new cards without issues on several accounts recently due to expiry - did not affect the status of my .com and .ca accounts
