Netspend Reversal?

I see that on this forum and of course on the netspend site it says that paypal transfers to the card can't be canceled or reversed, but does that mean that as soon as I send a withdrawal to my card it is guaranteed to show up and cant be reversed regardless of the transfer amount or can paypal still reverse the transfer as I assume is the case?

Until transaction is completed, I would not consider it reversed ...but YES PP can reverse it, can block it, and can even claw it back.

Not if paypal is the other party.

Pay attention to rsot's comment(s).

'Claw back' being the danger phrase. :fight:

You think I'll be ok if I withdraw $1350 today and $1350 on the 31st considering the first withdrawal probably wont start moving until the 29th because of the weekend and holiday? The account is about a month old and the transaction was off of ebay.

JohnPublic 05-26-2012 12:45 AM

What about doing the second withdrawal on the 29th? Do you think the first one will show as "Completed" by the 29th or does that not happen directly proceeding a weekend and holiday?

That is way too much for these prepaid debit cards. I don't think Netspend will allow such large transactions. I would do it in amounts of 500 every day.

I thought Netspend doesn't allow transactions in mismatched names, if this paypal account is stealth, disregard if it isn't.

JohnPublic 05-26-2012 05:18 AM

Too much? They don't specify any max transfer for paypal and the max load is $15,000. This account is in a real name... not stealth.

Comments are based on experience.

What is stated is not always what is allowed.

Suggestions were made to aid your choice in the matter. :peace:

Some prepaid debit cards have a max load per day. For example, Kroger cards are $1k per day max loading. I dont have any experience with netspend but mostly all prepaid cards are pretty much the same. The true question is if they accept mismatched names. And have a working phone # when you withdraw those amounts.

vany 05-26-2012 11:58 AM

I think $1k+ withdraw is a red flag for some prepaid companies, I suggest that you check first with the card issuer if they can honor such a big amount. Good luck

JohnPublic 05-26-2012 12:52 PM

I just called. They said the max load per day is $7500 per day regardless of the source.

yotano211 05-26-2012 02:32 PM

oh wow, this prepaid card has higher loading deposit limits then some brick and mortar banks, aka real bank accounts.

Now the question is if they accept mismatched names if the account is stealth, if not, disregard this part of my post.

JohnPublic 05-26-2012 08:27 PM

Yeah, this is a nice card. They don't accept mismatched names on any deposits or transfers though.
