- PayPal Talk

| Nissan2nr22 | 06-01-2012 05:48 PM | Paypal will become an in-store payment, already available at Home Depot I went to home depot today and noticed a "Pay with paypal" option on the credit card screen at the register. I googled and found an article stating that Paypal will become another payment option at major retail places.
Here is the link: Stores follow Home Depot lead and take PayPal to cash register - BostonHerald.com
It says "A host of retailers soon will allow customers to make in-store purchases through PayPal by using their mobile phone number or swiping their PayPal payment card."
If I can get all of my numbers forwarded to my cell phone, i wonder if this will work to make payments. And hopefully these stores even have visa gift cards :peace: |
| SaiJin | 06-01-2012 07:07 PM | Ppl must be crazy to want to use PayPal for anything.
Real credit cards give you cash backs when you use them, but not PayPal. |
| pitviper | 06-01-2012 07:40 PM | Probably get your account limited if you buy too much fertilizer at home depot. :spy:
Even worse, don't try buying a chainsaw there, that may seem suspicious. Another limitation. You may have to show id, proof of addy, and ssn at the checkout :rip: |

But that would be sweet it its just a mobile number confirmation and thats it lol. |

| Sandy D | 06-02-2012 08:00 PM | How would you do it without a pp debit card?
Majority here do not have pp debit cards to pay.
Mobile phone number might work but I can see that not working too well as it does not seem very secure to me. |
| jbluntz | 06-02-2012 09:18 PM | Whatever forwarded number you use should be fine, I paid a rental app fee with PayPal once using their computer and ip and worked out fine so I'm sure a phone number would be a lot more secure than that. |

It specifically has a pay with paypal button on the card reader at the register. I haven't clicked on it yet, but i will most likely in the next day or two next time i go. |
| newjerseymax | 06-03-2012 02:11 AM | I can see some stealthers now at the register with 20 phones... |

| myfriday09 | 06-05-2012 09:52 PM | I tried doing this the other day in my local Home Depot, but they said it wasn't available yet. Weird. |

| That would be hilarious if that were to happen.
I assume they would just block the account from completing the transaction, without limiting, unless necessary. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:06 AM. | |
