Paypal called my google voice

Paypal called me today, should I pick up or let them keep calling?

GreenBean 06-08-2012 08:04 PM

here's the thing.........

sometimes paypal calls to check transactions & if there's no reply, puts a soft limit on the account

sometimes paypal calls for marketing

sometimes people should make their ow choices

:juggle:

What do your instincts tell you?

You should be confident AND capable of having a talk to paypal. You should have all your info....

gamezoom 06-08-2012 08:29 PM

Been 8 hours since they called but no limit yet

BigCJ 06-08-2012 08:52 PM

Stay on the ball with that. I had paypal call me 2 times on one account.

first time I didnt answer. But, I record a message on GV with the name I have associated on the account.

The second time they called, they left me a message about how they handled a transaction....a live rep. but, I never had ANY transactions on that account. So it might have just been a random check to see account association :spy:

To be on the safe side always pick-up... I have yet to see a thread that someone got limited cause they picked-up... So choice seems obvious...

I was with a friend recently that totally panicked when her forwarding google number rang and she just kept saying "omg...what if its paypal or ebay...omg"... Until they hung up... lol

What can you possibly be afraid of?,,,get all the Information you used to create the account, and Talk to them,,,NOT Talking to them is FAR Riskier,,,

Cashew 06-08-2012 11:15 PM

first off......you should have every bit of information associated with that account right in front of you at all times or one sheet of folded paper with every bit of information with that phone at all times. .....part of the steal th technique.....

i guess if i got a call and i didn't have the basic information for that specific account with me, i wouldn't answer but i would make sure i get the info i need fast and make sure i answer next time because there probably will be a next time.

they probably calling to check a specific transaction or trying to sell something(marketing)

not answering the first time might work but not answering the second time could raise that red flag and who knows from there.

just keep the info with the phone...simple

btw......i keep all the information with my phone but have never been called by them...lol

At worst just tell them your driving and ask them to call back in 30 minutes.

I have my trusty folders all here in a portable file folder.

I carry phones of the accounts I have items listed on when I am away from home.

I have a backpack with my phones etc in it.

If it rings and I can I get it.

I usually tell them I am driving and what are you calling about and need to pull off for them to hold on.

Then I find the info and continue.

I get text messages from eBay no problem.

PayPal texting and calling cellular phones is not working. I got this from a rep when I called them.
