Just happened to me. Account is about a year old, I think I am nearing the $20,000 / 200 order number, so they are asking for the Tax ID.

SO, when it hits BOTH $20,000 and 200, that is when Paypal will likely "limit" you, if you do not supply the tax ID.

Unfortunately for me, I already have a real account w/ tax ID already on it, and this one here is a stealth account, so I can't exactly add a tax ID number (unless I want to start another business).

They also decided to put on a 10% 90 day rolling reserve on it. Now I remember why I love Paypal so much! :)

So, basically, I just took the money out, and going to leave the account as dead.

If it goes negative, I guess that is Paypal's loss, not mine.

If they would not have put the rolling reserve, I might have actually got a tax id to salvage the account.

It has been reported as low as 8,000 in sales and 200 items sold.

I got it at 150 items sold and around 11k last year.

To make it easier my book keeper told me it is the "potential" for you to hit those numbers.

If you sell quick and hit a decent dollar amount and have the limits so you can reach those numbers you are likely to get it.

Spread sales out.

Just get another tax id number they are free and u canhave asmany as u want. U have to spend it to make it. So if you have to pay taxes o well its better then not selling at all. I have five accounts all gold powersellers and have a ein for each. Its worth it at the end of they day.

I got one too. My guess is im about 12k sales.

I have not found a proven answer yet, but a few will get limited soon after while some never get limited.

So an EIN will work? I thought you couldn't go that route since you use real info.

Yes you can get an EIN on stealth, and still be legit. Plenty of threads on this, so you should check them out for more in dept info.

Awesome! Thanks

What is a good thread that'll tell me how to do this . I'm getting confused on the whole ein thing thank you

AmazonStealth 12-09-2012 12:29 AM

An EIN is basically a business SSN. So if you have a suspended account that has your personal SSN, then you cant use it, because it will link to a new account you open. So you need to go to the IRS website and register for an EIN (provide real info), and you will be given one immediately after signing up. They can not see the name behind the EIN, but keep in mind the IRS knows the money you made on your SSN as well as your EIN, so you MUST pay your taxes.

Paypal doesnt give a damn if you pay your taxes or not. The IRS will definitely know every penny you make though. If you havent paid your taxes in a while than you are in for a treat. With a 29.99% interest rate that 10k you made could turn into a hundred thousand pretty quick.
