21 day holds outside of eBay
 

I'm getting holds for payments off-eBay now, and it's getting ridiculous.

Does anyone know of a workaround for this? Selling through eBay is not an option for some of the things I sell.

Exactly. What I sell isn't high risk or expensive. I sell trading cards for various fantasy card games, and my average transaction is between $2 and $10. My volume is also rather low since I'm still breaking into this industry.

I wonder why I'm suddenly having holds on $2 payments?

Probably a mix of the source of the payments and upping of security on PP`s part - sucks but has to be worked through.

Out of curiosity, has anyone had 21 day holds outside of eBay for 'services' (not Goods)?

I might just change my website so the automatic invoicing is for Services as opposed to goods. If the buyer tries to scam me for $2 - $10 I will probably just sigh and then walk away because it's not a big deal for me if I can get my volume of sales higher over time.

Going to depend on the source of the transaction.

paypal is getting 'more' postal about applying these holds.

I use one paypal account only for these transactions. I always make sure I have a balance in that account.:ranger:

I know your experience was not on Ebay but I randomly had a payment held a week ago on one of my ids. This was a newer id was it's passed the whole 3 months thing.

The hold came out of nowhere and I haven't had another one. I don't understand why they would hold one payment but not another?
