getting paid directly through paypal invoice.
 

hi, i just sent a buyer a paypal invoice for a item he wished to purchase from me. I spoke to the buyer over the phone and everything seemed to align up right. His account is verified and his address is confirmed. I received the payment and it was immediately available in my balance. Is there any possible way that this could still be some sort of scam? I prepared the item for shipping with signature confirmation to avoid a INR claim. Ive already read up and researched on paypal scam and have a decent understanding on how everything works.

Quick question, did the buyer see your item on ebay, and did he contact you directly through ebay before you spoke to him/her over the phone?

Its always a good idea to do a reverse phone check on 411.com on the phone number he gave you - assuming its a landline. If the number matches the confirmed address its always a good sign.

he messaged me through ebay asking on my inventory and that he was planning to buy regularly. he has over 600 positive feedback and has been a member since 2002. so it seems legitimate.

Sounds like you have done your homework.

beware scammers will claim for empty packages.

I had someone message me about a phone I was selling & he wanted me to do an invoice via paypal, he wanted me to send the phone to Nigeria & his ebay account was registered in the US (dodgy)

There's always a risk of a scam but there's really no way to ever know. Just make sure your shipping to his confirmed Paypal email address and thats about the best you can do or just wait a week or 2 before you ship the items out. You can also look his name up on anywho.com or yellowpages.com and try to get a landline to call him on to make sure it's legit...
