Can I tell if buyer used PayPal funds or from their credit card? I recently got a chargeback from a transaction over 100 days old, since the purchase was apparently "unauthorized" and paid with a credit card via PayPal, so the buyer had around 120 days to file a CC chargeback. Whereas if they pay directly with PayPal funds, I believe it's somewhere around 40 days to open a dispute - correct?
Anyway, that random chargeback frustrated me and I'd just like to be more careful from now on, and check if a buyer has paid through PayPal with a credit card or funds directly from their account. Is that possible though?
I'm looking at the PayPal transaction details of my last 2 buyers and both say..
Payment type: Instant
Could that mean that they paid directly from their PayPal account? For some reason, I'm thinking there is a way to know, because if a buyer pays with an "e-Check" it tells you.
Any help on the topic I'd appreciate. Thanks. |
