Bank account name
 

I want to make sure that in Australia, Pay Pal can't see your bank account name when they verify your account. They ask for your name and say they will charge you if the name is different. Is this true ? Or can I just put in any name just as long as the the BSB and account numbers are right? By the way have been searching threads for ages, with all the changes all the time I'd like to be certain.:rolleyes:

When did anyone from paypal australia tell you that they will charge you if the name differs? Was it paypal or a bank?

Pay Pal says if the name you use on Pay Pal doesn't match the bank account name there is a $20 fee.

You will be happy to know that is BS. The BSB number and the bank account number are all that paypal sees. Despite what you are told by paypal australia and any one of 7 banks in OZ, the only requirement is for the BANK NUMBERSto be correct. The name does not count.;)

Thanks Greenbean.... I thought it might have been because when I asked at the bank, they said they only use the BSB and account for online tranfers. Pay Pal now wont let you change your last name when you go to add a bank account, so I thought there might be some truth in it. Glad to hear there is not.:)

yup gb is correct, thats how you get away with multiple pp acc's in oz :)
