Hi:

I recently was emailed the PayPal $20,000 IRS thing and I do not want to provide my social or tax ID. The eBay associated is a Top-Rated seller and has great selling limits. Is there any way to create a new PayPal and safely attach it to the eBay? I want to just let the old PayPal sit there and move on.

I have worries that eventually they'll limit the PayPal and any new PayPal I attach to eBay will also be limited then. Any advice with regards to this? Tips? Anything would be great.

You may want to open some more Ebay/PP accounts and let this one cool down till after the Year is over. I am sure other board members have their opinion on this matter.

You're ebay account will eventually be suspended as well.

I got the same email for the tax id on my best pp accnt with 2 ebays attached , and both with super great selling limits.Now i wish i wouldn't have created 2 ebays with just one pp.
So should i just let it go ?.I have unlimited ebays and pps to work with , some sleeping for several years, but it looks like we have to deal with this new tax thing with PP now.
Also for your info , i got the request with like 160 payments and way less than 20k for sure.
So i guess they are just requesting their info , way before it really happens(we get to the actual limit).

This happened last year. Most people I have talked to who stopped selling at 17-18k there PayPal was left alone and the bar went away at the beginning of the year. Although it did come back after they sold a few thousand dollars again this year. However, with PayPal you never know so just be careful. What I have been told is try to spread you sales out over the year and stop a few thousand dollars short of the threshold and your limits should reset the begging of next year.
