| tryingtofigurethisout | 10-06-2012 08:03 PM | The paypal 21 day hold...how long does it last? hey all,
I've been selling stealth for about 6-7 weeks now. I've completed about 20 transactions thus far. All funds have, of course, been released. I'm just curious how long paypal does this for. How many transactions will I need to do before they'll stop holding funds and release them immediately? :ranger: |
There's no magic number, there's no special trick or magic spell. You just have to keep selling until one day the sun shines on you and you check your paypal and you don't see any holds...that's the day that will be worth all the hard work. |
| GreenBean | 10-06-2012 08:41 PM | As long as you use paypal, there is a chance of holds.
Unless you are special ;) |
| slim jim | 10-06-2012 09:48 PM | As everyone else has said there is no time when it will be lifted forever. I have had them lifted and months go by and they put the hold back on. Talking with them can help but it is tough to get in touch with someone that can be helpful |
| slim jim | 10-06-2012 10:00 PM | LOL you are a special one |

| tryingtofigurethisout | 10-07-2012 11:58 AM | My real account has no holds and the 21 day hold was removed after just a month. guess I got lucky :) I've had it for two years now with no issues. |
| hackteck | 10-07-2012 10:53 PM | real accounts get the holds taken off quicker i believe it has alot do with adding an ssn# |
| Ratman2050 | 10-16-2012 12:10 PM | I talked to a representative from eBay last night to raise my selling limits and I asked him about my 1 year old stealth account that has 30 feedback and 20 transactions.
He told me that just like there are power"sellers" there are now power"buyers" who have certain policies in place for them. One of the policies is that a powerbuyer can request to have the funds withheld until the item is shipped and delivered.
He assured that not everyone is a powerbuyer so there is a chance your funds are not withheld at all, but then again it all depends. It really sucks though, my business' cash flow is hampered by the payment holding limits.. |

but I had one account that i swear every two weeks they were holding, not holding, holding, etc...and this is my real account from 1996 with 350 ebay feedbacks and perfect account.
go figure....:attention: |
Yes pp has some weird internal antics with it's own 21 day hold policy - same kind of thing for me as user365Z |

they can slap them on whenever they feel like it | I have posted over and over again that it is the truth. Your eBay account will be "unlocked" from that point onwards.
eBay will stop instructing PayPal to apply holds; in the "payment address" field when you attempt to list an item, it will no longer mention the holds or "pending balance" like it used to.
It will only say "PayPal may delay settlement of funds to ensure smooth transactions" this time.
But PayPal can decide to act on their own accord (without requiring eBay's instruction) and slap the holds back on at any time as you say. |

Without upsetting the apple cart, there is also no mention of the cursed rolling reserve that hinder accounts.
Some users may be in for a shock if they are not aware of this scorpion bite, imo.
