New Paypal Account Message ?
 

Lately, I've been getting a "To remove the limitations on your account, update your profile." message under my account.. That is the exact message I get.

I'm nowhere near the stated limits and my account does not appear to be restricted at all (already withdrew amounts yesterday and today successfully without problems, so this is quite confusing).

Just wondering, is this another one of those standardized notices just to scare people into providing their TAX ID information, or is anyone else getting this notice under their account? I looked everywhere on Google and can't find anything about this specific message. Anyone care to shed any light on this for clarification?

It shows under the MY ACCOUNT page when I'm looking at transaction history. Those little yellow notices on top. It's a Paypal Business account, verifyable through public records and junk, no EIN information attached as of yet (as I've heard on here, won't attach it unless I have to since I never trust them). The account is something like 3-4 years old and quite reputable.. the notice doesn't seem to be effecting anything, like before.

I just started getting this message in place of the other normal one that I used get around 24 hours ago..

Weird, I just signed into one of mine. (Tacoma address, business account). No message like that. :spy:

Could be another pp glitch - happens. Just wait 5-7 days.

Got the same thing tonight, not sure what it's about. Exact same message. No obvious limitations.

How about some details of the paypal accounts?

Type

etc etc

I got it under one of my accounts. I believe this is just another way of them saying to update your SSN/EIN/TIN number, actually im 100% sure that's all this is. So same as before just different wording, thats all.
No need to be alarmed. but see what others are thinking as well

and it says provide your tax reporting information to the side in smaller font, correct? I just want to make sure its not something else but min says the exact same thing in the exact same spot in the same yellow with black box around it when it wants more information but there are no limits actually in effect just yet. I even withdrew money to confirm. Could be something different tho if it doesn't say provide tax info off to the right. let us know.

I got the message too on me, on 3 of my accounts (1 yesterday and 2 today). All my account have sold over 200 items it been asking me for months the standard add your tax id, but i didn't add unless i have too. Now one account yesterday says "To remove the limitations on your account, update your profile. Provide your tax reporting information" and two today say the same thing,
I can withdrawal and stuff, BUT THE MESSAGE IS DIFFERENT!

but the message went from add your tax id in yellow to the more direct message? I have sold over 200 items on the account but less than 10,000 in sales.
I got scared when i saw it, i added EIN to one, but waited to see if its a little trick? Should i add to my others, i have no problem added it, but i dont want to since my sales are under 20,000 and not even close

Yes correct so this message at the moment seems to be just a better attention grabber for you to update your info so when you hit the marks you avoid the limitations. As far as adding the info that's your choice on how you run your accounts. It seems more and more accounts are getting this message in replace of the old message so probably just a update along with the million other updates that seem to be going on within ebay/paypal. But if your really worried wait and see if anyone has ran into problems or have different opinions on the tax phrase changing to this new update. Hope this helps & Good luck.!!

Yes, this is just their little scare tactic. There is no limitations put onto paypal accounts until you meet both 200 and 20k, be smart...I had the request on an account last year..Never hit 20k, and it's still going strong this year, and i don't expect it to hit 20k again.So they can KMA as far as i am concerned..I could careless what it says, i am just glad they aren't being anal about it,.
