| stanislav | 10-20-2012 09:56 PM | Opening bank account in USA. Ladies and gentleman,
Would I be able to open bank account in US as a Canadian citizen? What would I need to have in order to open one ?
Thank you! |

For Canadian citizens to open a US bank account in the United States, all you need are two pieces of identification. You do not need a US mailing address to open a bank account.
Two pieces of ID, driver’s license and passport. |
| AmazonStealth | 10-20-2012 10:28 PM | You should look into opening a bank account with a credit card that can give you cashback offers. With all the purchases I make, I can get anywhere from 3-6K back a year. |
Yeah but your a High Roller AmazonStealth! |

I would say if you are a general online seller you should at least be getting back $500ish a year with some online credit cards. Just make sure to pay them off. Most people just dont understand the concept of credit cards. |

don't know. why not ask the banks? |

Options exist

:juggle: | I am not exactly sure what you mean by US facilities. Hmmm. For example ... I had TD canada Trust. Great bank ... Though they charge a lot of fees. Anyways I was thinkng if I could open one in USA because I know they also have TD in US. |
| stanislav | 10-20-2012 11:17 PM | Yeah obviously if I could ask the banks on the weekend I wouldn't be asking you MM78 LOL! Why ask anything for that matter if you can call and ask yourself. Come on man... This is why we are all here. To exchange information. Otherwise what is the point to ask anything if you aren't going to get any help :) |
| GreenBean | 10-20-2012 11:22 PM | Have you said WHAT banks you are considering using ? NO
Have you said WHY? NO
Now you tell us off for not being able to give you replies to your demands.
You get a fair go with all your questions.
Stop misbehaving
To make you quiet for a bit, some banks may accept online applications, some may not.
Look...... a reply :thumb:

Check the Canadian banks. You may be able to get a USA account without leaving Canada.

Or read between the lines?
You've run out of Canadian banks & need go to the USA?
Or you are going to sell on ebay.com & are taking the necessary steps?

:peace: | I haven't run out of Canadian banks but I am always looking for another way to increase my checking accounts. US has a lot of banks, much more than we have here in Canada. I am still going to be using Canadian PayPal to add US checking account :) |

Thank you! | You may want to try Royal Bank of Canada I know they have a branch in the states. Georgia to be exact. The US branches are named RBC Bank.
I am not sure what the rules are now please give them a call to make sure.
In the past you can open a US account directly at the Royal Bank of Canada.
Here is their link and hope this helps. RBC Bank - Online Banking & Bill Pay |

| stanislav | 10-21-2012 02:02 AM | I wonder if ING CANADA is a good bank to attach with paypal. |
| GreenBean | 10-21-2012 02:12 AM | Avoid ING.
Names can be an issue. You have to be most careful with how you name everything
:deadhorse: |
| stanislav | 10-21-2012 02:32 AM | So both us and Candian are the same ? |
| GreenBean | 10-21-2012 02:49 AM | We've never had ING Canada as a recommended bank.
Never been on the list

I hope this helps :)
