Are you still protected if you sell an item just with paypal?
 

I have a 450$ laptop on amazon and a buyer is requesting to use paypal, says hes having problems with amazon and his card...

Is it safe to send an invoice and just request direct sign on this?

Off ebay transactions with paypal are always a risk.

Your sellers' protection has a chance of going west if you invoice the buyer.

Have you read the T&S of sellers protection with paypal?

I would suggest checking for yourself B4 undertaking such a transaction. ( I would not entertain such a sale).

I went around ebay over 200 times by invoicing the buyer through paypal, and I never had a problem. Since it's over $250, if you decide to do it, make sure you have sig, and tracking. You should be good if you have those. I have not had 1 problem doing it that way, and I saved a ton on fees.

on the 'details' page, you will see under seller protection, it will say either eligible, partially eligible and not eligible. partially eligible has no protection from chargebacks. like DeanChev said, over $250 you need signature confirmation, however I would do it on anything you do not feel like giving up.

At no point did he say this was a transaction related to ebay. Your advice does not fly in his case.

He stated it related to AMAZON.

Now , in my knowledge of using paypal that makes the chances of seller protection dodgy.

Az is not at all related to pp - in fact Az does not offer protection on a sale done off its platform.

As for pp, you can invoice as goods but you BETTER make sure you have a lot of proof. This being a risky transaction, I would not sell overseas. Make sure to check that his pp is verified and that you are protected.
