When asked for a social, if it ever happens, can you provide an EIN?
 

I keep wondering if I should register a corporation (under my REAL name), and then use the EIN for that on my stealth account. Is this possible? I've asked this before and never had any real answers.

I figured should I ever run into this question, I could say something like "I don't feel comfortable giving out my social security number... " and attempt to use an EIN.

Anyone?

What you sensibly do is create an EIN.

Have it ready to attach to your well running ebay account.

You engage in no talk of being uncomfortable about supplying SSN. Never feed paypal what they do not need to hear.

It's not as overwhelming as it appears.

I'm going to experiment with whether you can meet the requirement by upgrading to a business paypal account and adding your business EIN. But I would avoid entering an EIN in place of your social in a personal paypal account unless orange jumpsuits are your style.

Okay. But here's the question. Let's say my stealth account is James Doe. If the EIN says whatever, like, Storybook Sales Inc, does it need to say James Doe? If creating the corporation paperwork, can I use my REAL name? If I used the stealth James Doe name, I'd need a social (for the corporation paperwork).
