Does it matter what name is on the account recieving a bank wire transfer?
 

Lets say i am wanting to receive a payment via Bank wire transfer, from someone online, but i am using a stealth name.

Lets say "Dennis Reynolds" sends me a bank wire transfer to my account and puts the receiving name "Fred Flintstone", with all my other information such as bank account and routing number, but the actual name on the account is "Barney Rubble", do banks look at the name when someone sends you a wire transfer

My bank requires ALL info to be accurate on any wire.

In the US all bank wires use the ACH system which is regulated by the Feds.

Call your bank and see what they say.

I once had an $80,000 wire LOST for 5 days. My name was slightly misspelled and they had to track it down.

My bank doest give 2 ****s about that. :humble:

All field must be same for receiving bank or wire transfers else you need to go personally to the bank and tell them that I had received a payment on my account but the sender mistakenly put wrong Account Title name.

So if the bank manager knows you well they will suppy you an R-Form or Undertaking form that the payment that you received is your and if someone claim that payment then you have to return it back.

I also experience the same thing and i had signed the undertaking form and then I receive all the funds... But bank manager should know you well.

A wire transfer would need to be as close to the real name as feasible.

Such transfers can be checked more closely between the banks.

Amount of transfer may play a role in this as well.
