| GOGETER10 | 02-17-2013 08:20 AM | How do i pull cash of gift cards: follow up 09/18/2013 Recently I tried to get cash off my Visa gift cards by using PAYPAL, but of course the account was limited. And with Visa gift cards, you can't get cash back at stores because theres no PIN number assigned. Question. Is there any other way to get cash of a VISA GIFT CARD besides PAYPAL.... |
Mobile credit card platforms - like Square.com...you get a small terminal to attach to your phone and you do cashout of the card.
BUT...
if you do too many gift cards, your account will be closed.
One example I have given |
| baloch | 02-17-2013 09:29 AM | lots of options similar to what rsot mentioned. or just use the gift card to purchase gas or something |
| TowelKing | 02-17-2013 09:29 AM | Here are a few options:
- Buy an amazon gift card for the full amount, sell something from Amazon on ebay that would cover the cost of the item + fees, withdraw money to bank account (this would work with other retailers as well).
- Offer to pay for a friend's or family relative's shopping with the visa card and get cash instead.
- I deposit my visa cards into a forex account. I'm not sure how withdrawing it would work but you may be able to withdraw it to an account from there would work. |

| cantzme | 02-17-2013 11:47 AM | If you have a chase bank account in the US, you can go to a teller and they will cash it into your account I've done this a couple of times. |

| Sandy D | 02-17-2013 03:59 PM | Square will shut you down quickly if you use too many gift cards. |
| zoneout | 02-17-2013 09:31 PM | I just keep em in my wallet and use them for day to day purchases. After each purchase I write the new balance on the back of the card so I can keep my ducks in a row. |

It is for using a debit or credit card and not gift cards.
They will let you run a few in here and there as long as you use debit and credit cards.
If someone is planning on using nothing but gift cards thinking they will get away with it they will shut the account down.
There is a thread here somewhere that I think they used 11 gift cards with no other cards and Square closed their account.
I also have knowledge of it from reading in a money and financial forum I post on that others have had multiple closings of their Square accounts using gift cards they received for Christmas and had to call and get their accounts back. |
| slokor | 02-18-2013 01:12 AM | Does the period of time these gift cards are charged make a difference?
I mean if I use 11 gift cards in one day I can see how that would be an issue - but how about 1 gift card every 2 days or so? Would that work?
Just trying to make my life easier. |
| Sandy D | 02-18-2013 01:14 AM | No rhyme or reason with them. Seems they are shaky also.
But I do know they dont like gift cards period. |

I had no idea you could do that??? | buy an az e-giftcard on a forum or ebay using paypal....sell something on az/eb or elsewhere for same/similar amount, buy the same item on az and dropship it via az directly to customer...hehe I can see alot of probs with it potentially but can be done... |
| Rippedoffagain | 02-18-2013 11:22 AM | Thanks for the heads up. I have received the square but did not use it yet. I have 200.00 spread out over a lot of cards. |
| Sandy D | 02-18-2013 11:50 AM | If you use them for very small amounts and in a short period of time you might get away with it the first time but Square will see it in time and shut your account down. |
| zoneout | 02-18-2013 07:59 PM | I guess Square has no designs on prying away any Paypal customers with this type of behaviour. |
| Sandy D | 02-18-2013 08:07 PM | Exactly what I was thinking.
Pretty cocky for being the new kid on the block with the sole intention of taking away pps business.
Square forced pp to get their own android swiper. |
| zoneout | 02-18-2013 08:12 PM | I think I`ll stick with the villain I know for now. Thank you very much. |

Also - if you have $1+ on a gift card, I have used it to pay for cellphone and cable bills without problem. Quote:

Great if you have a point reward card on purchases :thumb: |

Dang rsot, never read a post that you used Square before.
So I am correct when I tell people if you use too many gift cards it will get nailed?
How do you have multiple square accounts when they get your info? |
Here is a website I found but does not seem to be processing any cards at the moment. Prepaid2Cash |
| Dunersdunes | 02-19-2013 11:24 AM | just go on ebay, search for visa prepaid cards and buy them using your paypal balance.. i buy about $3,000 a week. got guys on there who get them in 500.00 denominations and they mail them over night, easiest cashout ever..
and when you get the card, you call and set up your 4 digit pin.. then go to ATM and cash out.. usually pay like 575.00 for a 500.00 card, but who cares, no limits on paypal ever doing it this way. |

| Dunersdunes | 02-19-2013 07:07 PM | Sorry guys and gals.. i read that incorrectly.. i apologize. |

Yes you are ABSOLUTELY correct. I have been shut down after having passed 6 in a day...I can do 2 in a day without problems but I toss in a real cc between - every couple of days...would say 4-5 a week sparsed out is safe...cant be doing JUST gift ccs.
Its all about risk of course |

True GB - I am thinking they are just shut down but too lazy to update.
They probably lost their main cc processing provider. |

Up in Canada there is another service called getpayd - not sure of equivalent in States...Moneris-backed service. |

| GOGETER10 | 09-17-2013 04:39 PM | MOVING MONEY OF VANILLA's Listen....I forgot I already made a thread months ago.
I still have hassles.
So here we go again
:juggle:
I have about 180 Vanilla Cards with $13-17 dollars on each of them......What is the most efficient way to pull the money off these cards....I really don't feel like toting around a bunch of cards from grocery store to grocery store..... I tried a bunch of Paypal accounts but they only let you do one card per account..... FRUSTRATING..... please help.... |
| Dmshark25 | 09-17-2013 09:00 PM | Re: MOVING MONEY OF VANILLA's I have like 50 vanilla cards that I use as a CC for my Paypal accounts.
And once I attach and confirm the card I usually use the balance that week , and most of the time for Gas that week , they work great you swipe it at the pump and you get the balance of the card in gas |
| An0nym0u$ | 09-17-2013 09:31 PM | Re: MOVING MONEY OF VANILLA's That's 180 potential stealth accounts! Even Sandy might not have that many vanilla cards lying around  |
| GOGETER10 | 09-17-2013 10:35 PM | Re: MOVING MONEY OF VANILLA's NO.....their used for something else..... |

Re: MOVING MONEY OF VANILLA's I use "SQUARE" with my Iphone, I then charge the Vanilla, or other cards I use for the remaining amounts.
