paypal limited - what should my next step be?

I have had a paypal account for my business for over a year.
yesterday, I tried to add money from my bank account into paypal, and it said they have to verify my identity. asked for DOB and last 4 digits of EIN. no problem, I provided these. Then, it said they cannot verify me and now the account is limited. they want ID, social security number, and a couple of other documents.

right now, the account is not completely limited, I can still send and receive funds, but i cant transfer money to my paypal using my bank account.

my concern is that I have $2000 sitting in this account and they might lock me out for 180 days. how should I protect myself against this? I have 2 choices:
send all to my bank account
send all to a friend's paypal

So you are not limited at all? Transfer to bank account - do NOT transfer to friend.

It says my account is limited - I guess there are different levels of being limited.
I can't fund my paypal using my bank account until i provide photo ID, proof of address, and SSN card.

I am afraid that if I transfer to bank account, this will raise red flags and my paypal will be completely locked (180 day hold on $2k)

Any transfer of funds could well trigger that. Happened to a user some time back.


Have you considered calling? Try that. Offer ID, utility bill to go with the EIN.

I just uploaded photo ID, SSN card,and utility bill.
for the ID and SSN card, it says in progress.
for the utility bill, no matter how many times i upload it, it keeps saying "awaiting your response" - it will not recognize that i already uploaded that.
I dont know what it going on. what should i do at this point? i am so pissed, I have 2k in there and I am very afraid.
