amex bluebird update mar 19

amex bluebird will no longer accept direct deposits on unactivated personalized cards from mar 19, good luck ;)

zoneout 02-28-2013 09:58 AM

Why would anyone leave a card unactivated?

Freshman 02-28-2013 11:02 AM

just no panic zoneout ;)

StealthAssassin 02-28-2013 12:38 PM

Are the micro deposits from paypal considered direct deposits? I ask this because I know you can get the routing number and account number before the actual card arrives. Should I wait until the card comes before trying to verify PP?

Simple, Laziness.

Freshman 02-28-2013 01:29 PM

perfect answer lol, unfortunately dont know about expose codes from pp, are they considered as direct deposit?

astralman 02-28-2013 02:18 PM

What is the difference between bluebird and serve?

Freshman 02-28-2013 03:06 PM

btw if you register at serve, you cant register at bluebird anymore

Artann 02-28-2013 04:09 PM

like in person with your SScard in hand??

Artann 02-28-2013 04:10 PM

nvm, I misread it. I though you were saying that you have to register them now in person vs online.

astralman 02-28-2013 08:20 PM

So what is better for stealth bluebird or serve?

zoneout 03-01-2013 01:02 AM

I think PP is ACH transfer not direct deposit.

TeamUp 03-17-2013 06:52 PM

For some reason my Bluebird card will not link to neither Paypal or eBay. I input the numbers exactly as they appear but it keeps telling me that they are incorrect.

Sandy D 03-17-2013 07:49 PM

Who would take the time to sign up for BB and not activate it?

Does not make any sense at all.

I have worn off the color on my blue bird at the atm it is no longer blue.....

So what is the big advantage of going bluebird over say vanilla visa and a bank account? Just wondering.

Bluebird is not a "Gift Card", it's sort of like ReadyDebit, and other Cards which offer you a Bank Account with an actual Debit Card.

Note: BlueBird requires Real Name, Address, etc.

zoneout 03-17-2013 10:44 PM

I guess it would be cool if I could open up many bluebirds. But being limited to one makes it more of a nuisance than an advantage. To me it's like walking into a bank and them telling me sorry you can only have one acct with us. I'd rather do business with a bank that I can have multiple accts.

I have 4.

2 in my name and 2 in DH name.

Worth it to me.

I clean them out over and over.

I also do business at banks but this just gives me one more set of banks to use.

I have been using BlueBird to have Amazon deposits... no problem there, however, didn't realize that there is a $10,000 spending limit per month on these accounts. So you can deposit $50,000 but take only $10k per month ;)

rsot 04-20-2013 08:47 AM

Few threads going on about this elegant card - just trying to be clear if stealth name deposits work or not - getting mixed posts.

HurricaneHuntr 04-20-2013 11:16 AM

Works fine, back when this started you could sign up for cards with random info and random ss #'s and it worked for awhile.. Until you had to activate the card. I have one of my own that i use on stealths, how do you exactly withdraw funds? I just it on amazon and at the store to buy stuff instead of withdrawing cash. But, say i wanted to take out cash. How do i do that? With my pin at a wells fargo atm ?

I spent 300-800$ at amazon on goods for the house per month, the money isn't going anywhere so i don't really care,. but just in case the atm is needed. i was curious. I think it's wells fargo. yeah?

MM78 04-20-2013 11:51 AM

You can withdraw at any bank but some banks charge $2,$3 to withdraw the cash.

miahdog 09-05-2013 10:02 PM

Another trick, buy Money Orders at walmart and then return them for cash

Anything having to do with Walmart and trying to withdraw funds is a bad idea. Things can go bad and why even risk it.
