Redirect Ebay Buyers to Own Site

Maybe this has been discussed but I can't seem to find anything on it here or anywhere else. I'm wondering if when I receive a payment through Paypal from an Ebay customer, if it's safe to reply to that with a link to my own site? It seems to be going only to the buyer's email but I can't tell if it's "against the rules." I'm sure it's frowned upon but I can't find anyone saying it's either cool to do or not. Will this come back to haunt me?

Prob best to e-mail directly to customer or include link with item sold. Dont risk via eB messaging - you COULD be nailed with trying to do outside eB dealings

That's what I really meant. When an e-mail comes in from Paypal, if I reply it is to the buyer directly. So I was thinking it should be safe but have become a bit paranoid about all of this stuff as I discover more and more "rules" that I need to avoid breaking. Thanks for the help!

yes paypal notification could replied directly to your customer, but you cant guarantee that your customer didnt report you to ebay right. If you want to promoting your site the best way is :
1. use ebay id similar to your site
2. use product picture watermarked with your site url

If I understand correctly, the customer should only be able to report me if I contact them directly through Ebay messaging or "using information gathered from Ebay." What I wonder I guess is if that e-mail address from Paypal is considered as being obtained through Ebay (since its not directly from Ebay)? Also, I believe watermarking with a URL is against the rules.
