Old Info on paypal issues
 

So today I log in my PP account as usual. Since PP keeps asking me for my SSN, I click on the "Provide Now" link. Of course I don't give them anything, just click around for fun.
Then......I see my old info there.
Seriously, in the Name section, it shows my ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name, but in Home Address, it has my real name and the address that is in my old account. I was kinda freaked out because I'm 100% SURE that I never give PP my old account's info. So I go to Profile ---> Update Street Address and only see one address there, which is the PO box I use for shipping, also Home address on PP.

I really don't know how in the world PP can find that piece of info from my old account because I never give it to them. And the weird part: even tho the two accounts are obviously linked, I'm not limited.

Seriously, I can withdraw money and add fund using MoneyPak like normal. Now I guess they know for sure who I am, but maybe even with same name and same address, it still doesn't trigger an instant ban/limit. So I have no idea what happen here.

You may have accidentally just used the auto complete app on your browser. Certain browsers will store your information that you used to complete some kind of online sign-up or checkout. Google chrome is known to do this. It would not mean that Paypal has your old info, just that your browser does.

no, I don't think it is the auto-complete thing, because I disable it. I'm sure that address is in PP system. I'm not sure how to describe it, but if you have an account that need SSN, you click on the Provide button, it will show your Name, and Home Address with a name in it, and in that section, it has my old info. It is not a fill-in-the blank box. It is set as default right above the SSN.

Have you used that SSN before on old account?

Past purchases using paypal for websites other than ebay could also trigger this.

Interesting to note that guest checkout with any old info is JUSt as dangerous

I have seen this before on a really old paypal account of mine before. I think it was something for bestbuy. Wanted to pay through paypal, so during check out logged into paypal, realized not enough funds, so I just paid through debit card. This is the only thing I could think of that caused it.

That is not new or news.

Majority of issues reported on this forum previously with guest checkout have been down to this reason.

All of my testers using 'old info' failed.

I have mentioned that too before - it is worth noting - maybe I did not clearly type it out is all.

update on this, now I think I know the root of this one. A few months back, I bought a monitor on eBay. Of course that time I requested the seller to ship it to my real address with my name on it. I think that is where PP caught my info.
