Paypal collections call - Rude person or no?

I got a call from paypal collections...

Hello, is this xxx? yes can i help you?

You have a balanced owed,

I said: well im in a business meeting right now I cant do this right now. You can call me later in the afternoon if you want.

She said: if your in a business meeting why did you answer your phone?

Because I got out for a minute to answer it.

Ok, well call us back later.

Is this typical from paypal?

Should I had said why do you ask me such a stupid question or no?

Ha collection agents are not known for being polite - EXPECT TO BE PLAGUED INCESSANTLY.

Hope they dont have your real info....?

So you owe them money for not paying up on time, and you're in a "business" meeting? LOL

Its stealth, I just don't think its her business asking me stupid questions unless I said something stupid. How many people get ouf a meeting for whatever purpose to answer a call quickly.

I work for a huge RTO Company. We deal with collections on a daily basis.

Collections:
We never ask a question with a yes or no answer. We try our best to get to the bottom of the situation. Owe us money, either pay, pick up, court system.

What are you doing? So your saying you will pay us when? Why can't you make the payment? When can you? We will put a note on your account and will follow up on what you stated. If for some reason you can not commit to this new agreement, we will be forced to involve our legal affairs department for further assistance.

65 hours per week.

Stupid to owe paypal money and still have a contactable phone number I think.

I would of told them its none of their business.

ateep22 03-05-2013 03:45 PM

never pick up phone calls from numbers that are not recognizable by you, unless youre 16 years old and its your first cell phone and your excited to get calls, most friends and family text each other now, so if its someone calling and its important, theyll leave a message, and if its collections, dont even call them back lol

Paying off a negative balance on a paypal account is just one level under signing your soul over to the devil.

This is the answer I was looking for.

Not sensible stealth to retain an active phone number either.

If PayPal or eBay calls for collections. No Sh*t really they are going to be rude. You didn't pay them for a legitimate or not reason. Collections are given out to companies they do whatever tactic they think is best to recover funds. Plain and simple. If you owe funds and it is unresolved they will bug the **** out of you. This is a dumb thread. Any collection agency is going to pester you.

Now you know what ? I used to sell logins for premiums and ine customers insisted that nothing worked. He ended up with 4 acounts that all worked, called paypalnand they refunded him with out telling me. $40 . And I thought it was wrong and didn't pay them cause I felt they stole it from me.
And that's that
