paypal as a payment method
 

Some question I want clarify: when to start selling on eBay and want use 'Buy it Now' so I must offer PayPal as a payment method on my eBay listings: does this requires link my Paypal account with eBay, or I can just select "Offer PayPal as a payment method in all my listings" under "PayPal Preferences"? (without use Checkout process with Pay Now button, so I just send the email to winning buyer)

Yeah, there's no way you can list on a new ebay account without a paypal account proprely linked to it.

once you type your email preferences from ebay into pay pal. And you user id on ebay. Just go to profile on paypal and set it if you want. that automticaly sends paypal icon to your sales page with a button usualy.

and what if select only 'Tell Buyers that I prefer PayPal payments' in Payment Preferences (PayPal Preferred), the 'Checkout' and 'Offer PayPal as a payment method in all my listings' boxes is unchecked, does this still require specify paypal email in eBay listing and will this link a paypal account? What I mean is accept Paypal payments, but bill customers by sending money request directly from paypal, and choosing request type: Goods (other), without specifying paypal email anywhere inside eBay preferences or eBay listings.

Another option is to go into addresses on left hand side when you log into ebay and add it there

I mean way without revealing the paypal e-mail address to ebay. Meaning to accept paypal, but сompletely separately from ebay. I think for most buyers its all the same how to pay via paypal. eBay tries to force buyers and sellers to pay via Checkout, use a Pay Now button ("This button helps you get paid faster by encouraging buyers to pay")

to sell on ebay you have to link a paypal address

a.) DIRECT LINKING of the Paypal accts "USED TO" be diff than INdirect linking--
But times may have changed?

Use to be:

a.) If you DIRECT LINKED--besides listing just a pp address for pyts--i.e. johndoe@paypl.com, in the pyts section on a listing,
THEN--
You actually go into Ebay Preferences--then Direct Paypal as Chosen Method, then I believe there are 2 fields for this in ebay
b.) Then go into PP--then "ADD" an ebay acct
c.) Then while in PP--also--choose-make pp my preferred choice,etc etc..

INDIRECT--I term it--is just placing johndoe@ppal.com in the listing field--and thats it..
So--may wanna try it??

One thing "i" do..

a.) I keep my Ebay email as say: janesgoods@hotmail.com
b.) My MAIN PAYPAL is: say BOBSDEN@gmail.com
c.) I add--to that pp acct-say: Galesnylons@hotmail.com

SO-in the ebay field--its Galesnylons@hotmail.com, for a pp pyt..
I really do not know if this "slows them down on linking" or not?

In the old days--it was ALL---janesgoods@hotmail.com--for ebay/paypal/and paypal addy..

I just forgotten: this is regardless of any other settings I choosed in Payment Preferences? For example, I choosed only "Display 'PayPal Preferred' on my listings", all other options is set to NO:

Use checkout -no
Offer PayPal on my listings -no
Include my items when buyers pay all their sellers at once using PayPal -no

Paypal requirement is for all types of listing?

Any clarifications?
