Possible Paypal Red Flag

If I transfer $500.00 from my paypal account to bank account will they limit me or will this raise red flags?

and if so what amount should I start with?

BTW: my account is new & unverfied at the momment

How could your account be unverified if you have a bank account attached? You make a new account, receive $500 withdraw the entire thing, of course they are going to limit you.

This is my first post here on this forum, have wanted to post for a long time but I never really had any input that would be of any value. But I thought I would share my story. Cannot tell you guys how much the book and this forum has helped me out. If I knew all of this a few years ago, I wouldn't have let eBay and Paypal push me around so much. Wanted to input on this thread because I can verify $500 is the magic number. I created a new account using the help of this ebook. Actually created several accounts just waiting on the others to age like a fine wine before I begin selling on them. The account I was using had an eBay account linked with 25+ feedback. 100%. About maybe 4 months old. Been selling on it for about 2 months no problems. Each and every time I withdrew a sum of less then $500 from Paypal. I had about 20 withdrawals from paypal no problem, business finally back on eBay and I was ecstatic. Then I withdraw my first amount over the sum of $500 and bang Paypal limits my account stating it had some high risk activity...whatever the crap that means. Anyways, it asks to provide tracking #'s for high priced shipments. So I will enter those in and wait patiently for gaypal to realize I am a legitimate seller I will keep you all posted in regards to what happens. But I can say 100% that $500 is a magic # of some sort for paypal. New accounts and users I suggest staying below that amount for all your withdrawals.

Once again to all members of this Forum, admins and all those thinking about buying th ebook, it's frickin worth it. By far the best money I have ever spent IN MY LIFE. I am not worried for once after a limitation, because I know that my business will not stop for long, happy selling everyone.

That's good to hear makaveli23, glad you liked the book. :)

For me I've always found having a verified and confirmed Paypal accounts lets you go above the $500 limit Paypal places on you. It won't let you go too much more, not more then $1000 a day, but it does up the $500 limit. Don't go past $1000 per day with Paypal even with verified & confirmed or else they'll start asking for your SSN. Good luck!

Even still being confirmed and verified isn't a get out of jail free card, you still have to take things easy.

Never mind I got limited so I just refunded the buyers

First and foremost, absolutely never withdrawl or do anything without being verified first. Second, dont sell items on your new pp account that are for big bucks from the get go.
Start slow, very slow with everything until you get some age on the eb and pp accounts. Sure we all want hop back on right away but i f you do it will set you back to where you were before.
Think before leaping, they are not going to allow you to withdrawl tons of money without some background behind you.
I had a pp account I was using for 5 months and had tons of money going into it, didnt list expsensive stuff until a month or two had passed, then I withdrew 500, 800, 1300 and 1500 and various small amounts and never got limited one single time. Dont know if this means anything but I almost always withdrew on Fri or Sat night and had zero problems. I did withdrawl smaller amount like 100-200 other days but not often.
By they way, the eb account is now gone and the pp is still good, withdrew some 4 days ago and it arrived fine.
And this is on an account I couldnt get a debit card for.

The answer is patience and everything checked and verified or you will be sent back to go.

Hey all, well I would never sell a single thing on a non-verified Paypal account. That is just stupidity. Paypal would book me in no time. The account was fully verified and confirmed, linked to an eBay account a few months old. About 25+ feedback and now they have limited my eBay and Paypal account. This is different from other serious limitations. I think once I provide all the tracking numbers and shipments arrive to buyers the limitation should be lifted. Has anyone else experienced a similar limitation? Even though I hate Gaypal I can kind of understand where they are coming from. They just want to make sure I am shipping off the products. But the fact is I am just starting backup accounts and letting them age before I sell so my business is once again on hold because of these *******s. Any advice or experience anyone can share would be appreciated. Thanks

Sorry for the confusion Modee, yes verified to me means the same thing. I can safely state that a bank account has been attached and confirmed. That is a very easy part for me considering I am located in Canada and work for ING Direct so I can create multiple ING accounts and paypal verified accounts with no problem. Of course because Canadians don't need a SSN to get on Paypal...finally for the first time in my life I am actually happy to be in Canada :)

Any advice on the limitation? Just wait it out and be patient?

makaveli23 07-16-2008 12:50 AM

Thanks for the information Modee, I viewed your other threads and that e-mail you received for the limitation from Paypal is the exact same template I received (those lazy idiots never change their wording do they?)

In my opinion I am actually optimistic for once, for U.S sellers they require a lot of additional information. If they asked me for my bank info, drivers license or anything else I would basically be screwed and give up on the account. But since they are not really asking for anything I can provide I am hoping this limitation will be lifted soon.

Question - One thing I didn't seem to understand in your thread, maybe you can clarify. You stated you just placing your e-mail address stating you accept paypal on your auctions. Do you just state that in your description then send out payment requests manually? Or do you actually add a paypal e-mail address on eBay so that buyers can automatically pay you through auction checkout...does that not link your eBay and Paypal? This is vey interesting, please clarify what you mean. Thanks

Good for you, I wish Paypal wasn't such a motivator for buyers. Their monopoly of the online market is devastating for people like us who despise them. I hate them with a passion:mad: Nevertheless, sometimes if you can't beat them you have to join them. Trying out alternatives now like ccnow. May just do what you did and link my account with a reliable merchant account and forget paypal ever existed.
