Is There a way to stop scammers?

Hi after my auction today someone emailed me and told me they had received an email from me stating that my Paypal account had been compromised and they wanted the bidder to pay with Western Union.

The bidder was smart enough to contact me and I told her it must had been a scam and my Paypal works fine. Is there anyway for these scammers not to get a hold of my winning bidders and impersonate me?

No. Because the winning bidder is always shown. Buyers just need to conscientious about who they are paying thats all. One must be a bit light in the head to pay with WU because of an email.

Just change you listings to private that way they can't email your buyers
