| dm3030 | 07-17-2013 10:54 AM | PO Box address for ID verification? If I use a PO Box for the address on a stealth account, but then get limited, will PayPal accept ID with the PO Box listed? I don't think my real ID even allows PO Boxes though.
(Sure the simple way would be to use a street address, but this question is about PO Boxes.) |
| jeffweico | 07-17-2013 12:41 PM | I doubt it. You should probably use a UPS address. |
While I agree with jeffweico (since no ID is issued for a po box address hah), you could do ID with some smart address modification |
| jeffweico | 07-19-2013 10:45 AM | I'm not saying it is impossible. It is just that I have never seen a driver's license with a PO BOX for an address. And if they DO exist, I don't see eBay/PayPal/Amazon accepting it. Of course, this is just my OPINION. |

Many other workarounds to get an address other then using a PO Box. |
I spoke to a friend (well up here in Canada) who works for DMV equivalent - I had my suspicions and he confirmed them - no issue of DL to a po box address - has to be a residence whether owned or rented. |
| Sandy D | 07-20-2013 03:54 PM | I know you could not get away with it here in Florida as they are way over picky about everything you do.
To rent a PO Box you have to hand them over proof you live at that address etc.
And for any name to get mail to that box you have to provide ID etc. |

The USPS requires a driver's license, proof of residency (copy of lease, current car or homeowners insurance bill, mortgage documents, etc.) and if a corporation or LLC, the LLC operating agreement or certificate of good standing. I was also told that if anyone else would be receiving mail there, or even just picking up mail, their license would be needed as well. |

Every USPS building has a physical address...so why not use it? Use a test mail to see if the mail will go through.
I have a stealth account running for a year with this same method.
PO Box 1234
Anytown, XX 12345
500 Front St <---this is the real street address of your local Post Office
Unit# 1234 <--- your PO Box number
Anytown, XX 12345 |

| unknown_user | 07-21-2013 11:49 AM | To correct one thing... You can have a PO box on your DL. I have it. The only way you can have this on your license is if you have a "police block" on your License. ONLY IF you are a government employee or police officer. Hope that helps.
OH i also forgot... if you are a spouse of someone in the government or police officer you will get a police block too. ;)
To help out on verification etc for a po box or UPS box... SAMS club card is now considered part of "verification ID"
and SAMS CLUB is very lax on their end to obtain one. ;) |

| unknown_user | 07-22-2013 12:47 PM | You can use SAMS club card (has photo ID) to get a mail box etc. It is used as a credible form of ID. Ask the UPS store and they can verify. Just ask if your SAMS club card is also a form of ID. ;) |
