Account verification prepaid cards
 

Hi guys,
I have a question.You need a real bank account to create a paypal stealth account.You can always get a debit card at the bank when open a new account.So why everybody is talking about various prepaid cards like Vanilla or Greendot,why can`t you verify your Paypal stealth with a real debit card?

The address associated with your debit card cannot be changed. So, if you are using a different address, we need to register a prepaid card to use that address. Either that or use a VCC.

If the address associated with your debit card is the one you are using on PayPal/eBay/Amazon, then there is no need to change it.

Here's an example:

If your debit card address is:
111 Hope Road
Somewhere, CA 90566

but your stealth is:
654 Nothing St
Anywhere, TX 94534

Your Real debit card will be declined. This is why we use either Vanilla Visa, other cards or VCC's sold on the forum.

Thank you for your reply!If they can see the address associated with the debit card,can`t they see the address associated with the bank account?I`ll had both paypal and e-bay accounts limited in the past,but will still have to open bank account with my real name.

As far as the Bank Account, Paypal only see's the Routing, and Account Number. You still have to add your real bank account if your real name.

once you have the vanilla visa with your stealth name and address how do you get the account verifed

The vanilla visa will CONFIRM the account.

You need a bank account to VERIFY your US pp account (you are working on US pp platform right ticket?)

Yes im in us and I can use a bank account with my real info and just tell pay pal my stealth info and I will have a verified account and thanks for responding to my question

Just to clarify...

Actually, I misspoke. You CAN change the address on a debit card through your card issuer. But it is not recommended as they might be suspicious as to why you are changing your address and then changing it back.

PayPal CANNOT see the name associated with a credit card. AVS only verifies the NUMBERS in the address and ZIP code.

PayPal also CANNOT see the name on your bank account when sending deposits. They MAY see the name on withdrawals, which is why we avoid transferring money from our bank accounts to PayPal.

Confused a little here--so you mean PayPal cannot see the name on your bank account when sending money from PayPal to bank account and they may see the name when withdrawing money from bank account and sending to PayPal?

That's correct. Why is it confusing? One is a withdrawal and the other is a deposit.

Think of it this way...whoever is the recipient of the funds can see the name on the account.

If PP is receiving funds from your bank, then there's a good chance they can see your name attached to your bank account. If the bank is receiving funds from PP, it can see the name on your PP account.

This is why you sign up for a bank that does not care about names matching. And its also the reason jeffweico suggested to never send money from bank to PP.

If you send money FROM your bank to PP - a receipt will be generated that will show the true name - standard financial policy - that's why this is risky to keep doing. Some people do it on a one time basis but...still never recommended

Hello,

My point is today i applied for the Visa Prepaid card but i didnt register any account. I just register new on but bank took all my details. Of course on the card will be written my real name. I am in Europe not US. Now I will open Paypal and eBay account. Question is.

Will I have to use real name & address with new email account for Paypal or I can just type the card number, write my girlfriend name & Address?
