Weird coding on paypal shipping label???
 

Noticed that today when I printed out some paypal shipping labels with tracking a code in a box appears on the right hand side between TO and FROM addresses. Code is in a box with a capital letter followed by 3 numbers......anybody know what this is about????

I noticed the same and it also says USPS PRIORITY 2 Day SHIPPING as the title on top of the postage before it just said USPS PRIORITY MAIL.

I noticed it started to change Saturday into Sunday as I was printing labels, I'm gonna ask Tomorrow at the post office, probably just some technical changes

It is right where I put my little personal thanks on the label.....wondering if it is actually needed for USPS to see in order to deliver....am very curious as to what it is all about though.

I'll find out and try to remember to post tomorrow if no one knows already but I wouldn't cover it up its probably a new coding system or something

Yes. This is part of the change that USPS is going through. They announced it on their website that it was going into affect July 28th.

The changes apply to Priority Mail and Express Mail. Domestic Express Mail is now renamed Priority Mail Express.

DO NOT block out any codes, as those will probably be used by the clerks so they can adjust to the change. If they are blocked out, then it could delay your mail delivery.

This was on a USPS First Class PKG (padded envelope).....with tracking through paypal.....I always ship this way

Those code are also on the first class label. My items has been shipped without any issue so I don't think it's something to worry about.

I've seen them on first class and it goes something like C002 for example. Very weird

The codes is for managers who have issues with customers that send in prepaid packages that don't get delivered. Usps can see which carrier in any state who handles your package. Lets say you track a package that didn't get delivered or delayed shipping. The manager would contact district and speck to a operator and state they need to speck to carrier 29, which means "C029" that is printed on your shipping label. Each code that is on your shipping label that you print changes by state and zip code and assigned to a different carrier.

Yea all the Priority mail ones have a R then 3 numbers "RXXX" example R040. Also some coding with a C then some numbers.
