Ebay account first or Pay pal account first?

I was just wondering Has anybody had any experience with first opening an eBay account THEN PP or is it better to open PP THEN ebay? I usually open eBay, wait a few weeks, make it a seller account then open PP . Just wondering what may be better.

From my experiences it doesn't make a difference.

I'll open both, then wait until I do something further, such as sell an item, buy something, etc...

I make my paypal accounts first.

I verify and confirm them always.

I then use them for some time. I buy only off ebay at the start.

When the time is ready, I attach the paypal to a new ebay account.

Then I am ready for selling.

I learned that from discussions way back when I joined the forum - like GB, make the pp first and solidify them...I even use them in other ways with payments in/out before going to eB. Was an idea brought up by GB back in the day - thanks GB.

That's the way to go and how I been creating accounts now and they end up getting Paypal holds lifted quicker and ebay raises also higher and faster

Paypal first
Confirm and verify

Than ebay
Than link and turn to selling after few weeks

That was the second lesson I ever got taught when I first started.

Wait before listing the first item.

I do just that.

Works for me every time.

I keep in mind I want to run a (stealth) ebay account with a minimum amount of fuss...

These are the steps I take .

I keep control. Not ebay slamming my account with an MC999.

No way.

:boink:

Not paypal holding my funds for 21 days.

No way.

It is just logical to make PP first. That' what a Vulcan would do anyway.

I have an ebay account that I created first. It has aged for almost a month now. I just got a new checking account ready to go that I have not created a paypal account with. Is it safe to create the paypal, link bank account and verify with gift card now and link with the aged ebay account in a week or so? You said you bought stuff through ebay, so that means you already used the potential ebay stealth account ready to buy, and buy it with the stealth paypal account but did not attach it to the ebay account right?

I'm thinking since the paypal is going to be a month younger than the ebay account, would that cause problems because the steps were supposed to be create the paypal first then the ebay account?

Your method has no limits right? My first 2 stealth now has 500 dollar withdrawal limits, which at this point is not too bad yet because at 10 items per month selling, I don't have too many things more than 50 dollars.

@glacier922, a month younger itself is not the issue - it's how you operate with it. Built the account slowly. No method is 100% FAILPROOF

Ok, so I am guessing that the reason why I got 500 dollar withdrawal limits is because I didn't operate it well? Is it safe to just keep on selling on these accounts just knowing that you can't take more than 500 bucks out per month? Thanks.

The withdrawal limits could be based on other issues - not really how you operate...for example, have you CONFIRMED the pp with a credit card? Or is it only verified?

On the side: how are you SURE that you can only take out 500$ a month? E-mail received?

Nevermind about that post. LOL. I just did some searching on the forum, and yea, I didn't verify the vanilla visa card that I have. They said they would charge me 1.95 to verify but then they will refund the money. Is the Vanilla card able to take refunds? I'm all worried that they are going to take my 1.95!

About the side question, I didn't know. I just logged on to paypal and clicked on view limits, because now the forum has gotten me paranoid about paypal limits, and then gulp, I saw 500 dollar limit withdrawal monthly. I thought that I might have gotten limited for whatever I did. But in actuality, I never had the paypal verifying my credit card and 4 digit code or whatevers.

About Vanilla Visa, they will charge it 1.95 and the 1.95 is CREDITED into your PP account so don't worry about that.

Ahhh ok - your limit is because you have not CONFIRMED the account with a credit card. You arent limited :) don't be paranoid hah.

Good to clear it up glacier922!

These moments happen when starting out or trying different things - it's ok as you perfect the method
