Asking for Tax ID
 

PayPal just sent a note saying I have 24 hours to update my account with a Tax ID Number, is there ANY workaround this? Can I use the same SSN as my relatives account if he is using that on another PayPal account? As of now I sent all my available funds to a relatives account just in case.

What a huge mistake. You will link the accounts and their account will be limited and suspended in no time once yours is.

You would have received a notice long before this in most cases and had time to look into EIN or other means.

Do not use a family or friends SSN, name, information etc as it will link you to them and you will cost them their account and cause them to pay taxes on your sales.

Using someone elses SSN is fraudulent and wrong.

So ultimately I am asking what would you do if

1) You were asked to provide a Tax ID Number

2) You have $50 pending, will be available in 1 week

3) You have already been sending cash to someone's else's PP account who lives in your house

I am fine with going stealth but don't want my relatives account to get banned, they have $150 available and I don't want that to go to waste.

Ahh I'm stuck ATM lol, do you know if i remove the SSN of a relatives account an use it on mine will work? So like switching it? Probably a dumb idea lol

Once you've entered a SSN in Paypal its there...for life. You don't get a mulligan or do-over. And yes, it is a dumb idea to switch it with another account. What you're considering is fraudulent.

It is alway's advised to wait to start selling on newly made accounts, but if you're desperate, you can start selling immediately.

Be prepared to have a MC999 restriction within 48 hours if you do start listing immediately. A 15 minute phone call will clear that up, and then re-list the items and most of the time you're ok. I would not recommend listing to the limit right off the bat though. Sell 1 or two things, and then after the MC999 then you should be ok to start pushing the limits.

In the meantime, start making accounts to operate the right way.

No I got a note about the Tax ID Number out of the bloom, I know there is no way I will ever reach the $20,000 and 200 transactions.

Is this the easiest option? I looked up how safe this is and idk. Will PayPal stop bothering me after this? I would be very happy is this worked, does it matter if I'm under 18? And did u use ur ssn too for your account?

After 3 hours of extensive research, I have 2 options I think.

1) Add my own SSN. I'm under 18 though.

2) Someone suggested removing my current PayPal account, and adding a new one to the same eBay account. I need to keep this reputable eBay account!

Please suggest anything! I don't have much time!!

How long before I get limited? Or am I already limited from this Tax thing? I can still get funds from selling and send money, if this is considered limited then I am perfectly fine! My money is slowly bring available too
